The removal of foreskin is an ancient religious practice. There are several religions that remove the foreskin for belief reasons. However there are other non-religious reasons for removing the fore-skin. For example they may remove it because it is cleaner. It may be removed because of a health issue. It also may be removed to stop prevent future health issues that you may or may not encounter.

They do it for religious reasons mainly. From what I heard, it is actually very VERY painful which is why they do it when you are first born because you really haven't got the pain sensations in yet. I think if you had it done when you are older you'll have the same problem as when you were a baby....you won't walk for a year.

Circumcision was brought to America's attention in the 1950's as a way to prevent masterbation and pre-marital sex. Obviously that didn't work, so doctors later found that it was a way to keep the penis cleaner because the foreskin can hold germs/stds if not cleaned properly. And the reason why people don't wait for the guy to decide is because, 1.) Circumcision will hurt like hell, for two weeks.
2.) When you're a newborn, you don't remember the pain.

I have heard several religions practice circumcision for various reasons. I've heard a few medically based arguments in favor of circumcision but none that bear any merit. Keeping it clean is really not that difficult. If other guys are as obsessed about their penis as I am than keeping it clean is more fun than work.

There was 2 main reasons. I liked the clean look of how all my friends circumcised friends looked. I thought I looked like an anteater. I also did not like all the junk that collected under my foreskin even with washing.

u heard wrong, u can always pull the skin back, also u just rinse it when u shower, and its clean. but that sometimes does happen, and thats why people get circumcised, also if its too tight.

It's a religious thing in Judaism and Islam. I think part of the reason it became so popular in the US was some people thought circumcising boys would prevent them from masturbating. Clearly it didn't work so I think it's not done as often. But it's still definitely the norm for most boys.
