So I've been thinking about my future more lately. So I wanted to see what others would do or think or what not:)

What religion would you raise them as? Catholic
Where would you raise them? Sicily
What would you want their future job to be? Doctor, Psychologist, Lawyer
What would you do if they turned out to be gay? I would handle it the way they did in the 1930s

-What would you do if you caught them with drugs? Well honestly, it depends... If it was cigarettes or weed I wouldn't punish them as harshly. However if it was a hardcore drug then I would punish them more severely. If the drug use kept going then I would take them to a substance abuse center.

What religion would you raise them as? I'm atheist but I would introduce them when ever the time's right to the religion my family was raised in and let them choose what ever suits them. But I won't really speak about it in the household since I'm not religious.
Where would you raise them? I would want to raise them in Europe or Latin America but where ever is possible.
What would you want their future job to be? I won't instill any of that to them. It's basically what ever they want to pursuit.

What would you do if you caught them with drugs? Depending on what drug it was, I would get them help and explain to them how it's really dangerous for them. I would also have my eye on them more. But If it's weed, I don't think I'd care.
Would you provide them with condoms/birth control? At what age? I would and around the time they would reach puberty or in the middle. I would talk to them about it first and then get them it.
Who would you want them to turn out like? No one. I would want them to turn out as them selves. But I would want them to turn out as good people and not do any "bad" things in life.

I actually find this interesting, and I'm waiting on Game of Thrones to finish synching so I can sleep, so why the hell not.

What religion would you raise them as? As a Protestant Christian, my children will grow up knowing what I believe and why I believe it, but even as a parent it isn't my place to brand my offspring with a religion. I hope that my children find their spiritual paths of their own accord and of their own choosing, and whatever they choose, I will support it. They're my children, after all.

Where would you raise them? Somewhere safe. I'd love to raise my kids somewhere quiet, where there's plenty of space where they can play outside, like my brothers and I got to do as children. I'd also love to raise them on the water, as most of my early childhood was spent living in coastal Florida and most of my fondest memories of childhood involve the beach in some way.

What would you want their future job to be? I want their future job to be something that makes them happy, because the last thing I want to deal with in my golden years is depressed progeny who want to pawn their own kids off on me for no good reason other than they hate their lives.

What would you do if they turned out to be gay? Again, support them. They're my children.

How many kids do you want? Two, ideally. Or four. I was a third child and I always hated it because the older two left me out of a lot of things growing up. Three's a crowd as they say.

How many years apart? I would like my children to be relatively close in age so they could play together as well. My brothers and I are all spaced out roughly 18 months to two years and I think it's perfect.

What sexes (male/female)? I would prefer to have all boys! I really see myself being the mom at the ballpark with the team snack after the game a lot more than the mom in the ballet studio. Of course daughters are wonderful, too, but I grew up with only brothers and I just relate better to males. I'd be so confused with what to do with a little girl even though I used to be one myself.

How many sq ft house would you wanna raise them in? It doesn't really matter how large the house is, as long as we have a nice kitchen because it's the hub of the home and each of my children have their own room. I think it's really important for a child to have their own space. They need something to be theirs from an early age, something they have stewardship over and are responsible for keeping in order.

Would you have high expectations at school, grades attitude etc? Again: They are my children. Of course I expect them to be amazing. But if amazing only looks like a C average, then that's all I'll expect. I only want their best. My parents were always really great about this raising me and my brothers. My oldest brother isn't an academic; he's all athlete and muscle-brains. My parents knew this and they took pride in what he was good at and didn't really care if it was a struggle for him to maintain that C average to play. That's what's important, I think; praising a child for what they're good at and not worrying too much about the rest.

How would you punish them for talking back and cussing at you? I'm their mother and there are certain ways that will be unacceptable to address me and speak to me, or to their father, or to anyone with authority in their lives. I want my kids to feel they can express themselves to me, but I want them to know how to do it in a way that is respectful. When they talk back that means we aren't talking anymore and anything they had to say is now invalid to me. If they swear at me, I get something important of theirs for each curse. I'll give it back when I feel like it.

Would you want them to be like you? Sure, but I want them to be a better version.

Would you spoil them? To an extent. I think all children deserve to be spoiled at one time or another in their lives; something little here or there to let them know you love them. But I think just giving your children things is the opposite of loving them. Children have to be taught that hard work is a part of life.

What would you do if you caught them with drugs? This depends solely on the drug in question. I will of course be disappointed in their poor choices, and depending on if the drug is 'hard' or not will change my reaction completely. Catch the kid with weed? Nice try, bud. Not in my house while it's still illegal. Catch the kid with cocaine/meth/something else horrible? Let's pack up, were going to Alaska.

Would you provide them with condoms/birth control? At what age? My mother told me when I was 11 years old that sex should never be a secret between us, and if I was going to do it, or thought I would, I should tell her because she wanted me on the pill. Circumstances arose where I needed to be on the pill for the hormonal regulation before I would even come close to a sexual relationship, but the sentiment was there. I WANT my daughters on birth control because I want them to be as safe as possible. I want my sons to have access to condoms because I want them to be safe, too. I will provide them those things as soon as they tell me they need them.

Who would you want them to turn out like? Iron Man.

Would you care if they were ugly? Pssshhh, they have my genes. They will never be ugly. Also, this doesn't matter. Haven't you heard the phrase 'a face only a mother could love?' Mothers always think their children are precious.

What would you do if your daughter came home pregnant? Support her. My mom really set the bar high for this one. Earlier in the year I was late and the would-be father, my ex who was from the country where I studied abroad, basically told me that if I was pregnant it was all my fault and was generally cruel about even the possibility. My darling mother looked at me through the Skype and said, "Just come home and he never has to know."

I can only hope I, too, would help hide my daughter's foreign love child from its crazy father. That's devotion. That's how mothers should be.

If they asked you "Am I ugly?", and they were ugly, what would you say? I'm their mother. I don't think they're ugly.

Would you care what music they listened to and what movies and shows they watched? To a point. When they're young, of course I will! Young and elementary aged kids don't need to listen to music with tons of swearing and bad messages; they don't need to watch shows full of tits and ass. I will filter what my young children see and hear as best I can, but as they get older I'll have to trust their judgement on what they let into their brains. It's not like forbidding something will help.

When you die, what 3 things would you want them to remember about you and your personality? One, I was compassionate. Two, I was forgiving. Three, I always wrapped the Christmas presents in newspaper, and you always knew what your 'best' gift was because it was wrapped in the funnies.

Would you have "The Talk" with them? If not, what other way would you tell them about puberty? Traditionally in my family the talk is held at age 11. But I don't think a single talk is good enough to cover all the wacko things that will be happening to their poor bodies. I'll trust the care of my sons to their father on those matters, provided he's in the picture as I hope he will be, but with my daughters I hope to establish the type of relationship I had with my mom. The type were there aren't any secrets and I'm the one she asks her questions, not her friends who don't know any better than her or the internet.

Agnostic. I'd prefer that they understand there isn't any real evidence one way or another. Hopefully this will lead them to look at everything a little closer.

Seattle. It's a very diverse city, and if they can withstand Seattle weather, then they should be able to stand quite a bit else.
What would you want their future job to be?
Something to do with computers. Of course this is MY want, not theirs. If they grow up and decide that they want to paint or fight fires or help people, then wonderful. I will NOT, however, stand for them to be drafted. I'm going to try and marry someone born in Germany, that way my children are granted dual citizenship.

So help me (possible) God, I would not stand for it at ALL. They'd immediately get the shit scared out of them, and then they'd be signed up for counseling sessions or some variant. Kind of hit/miss with those things, but I'll make it available if they want to talk.

I will not treat my children like kids past the age of 13. I will certainly provide those things for them at age 14, just to be safe. I will have to see how the world changes by then. Young sex might not be such a thing around then.

Agnostic or Christian; I'm conflicted here because I want them to grow up having a spiritual support for adversity, but then again, I want them to understand that all religions should be explored and no concrete evidence proves a definite religion to be more correct or accurate.

Where would you raise them? Large, urban area. I prefer the larger cities because then they learn to work with a large diversity of people.

What would you want their future job to be? Whatever makes them the most proud of themselves.

What would you do if they turned out to be gay? I'd be completely accepting of it. I'm gay, so I'd talk to my kid(s) about how being yourself makes you happiest and there's no reason to conceal who you are to please other people.

How many sq ft house would you wanna raise them in? 3-4,000. Comfortable, but not oversized. I'd like a guest room in case anyone I know has a hard time and needs a comfortable place to stay.

Would you have high expectations at school, grades attitude etc? I'd expect them to do their best to achieve. I wouldn't necessarily require straight As, but I'd stress the importance of education. I might set up a token economy rewards system for A's and B's to motivate them at the younger ages, but I'd also be sure to let them know that it's okay to make mistakes and they shouldn't go into panic mode when they don't ace every test.

How would you punish them for talking back and cussing at you? I'd remove things that they enjoy and ground them. Later I'd ask if they were ready to talk and I'd listen to them if they aren't ready to apologize because maybe they feel I did something wrong, but then I'd tell them how I feel and explain why they need to apologize for their misbehavior.

Would you want them to be like you? Yes and no. Look like me? No. Be gay like me? If that's what makes them happy. Have the same characteristics as me? Some. I want them to be as motivated as me, with an internal locus of control and I want them to be compassionate. But I also want them to stick up for themselves and others.

Would you spoil them? Probably, but I'd try not to. I would want them to learn that everything in life is a blessing.

What would you do if you caught them with drugs? I'd have a serious talk with them about the consequences of doing drugs. I'd then confiscate the drugs and tell them that while they are under my roof, they are not allowed to harm themselves in that way.

Would you provide them with condoms/birth control? At what age? Yeah, if they asked. I'd have "the talk" with them again if they asked, too. I'd tell them to hold out for the person most special to them, etc. 15+ Any younger, and they're going straight to therapy.

Who would you wnt them to turn out like? No one I know. Then again, I'd want them to be unique, one-of-a-kind, but feel like they fit in and are a part of the community.

Would you care if they were ugly? I doubt I'd see my own kids as being ugly, regardless of their physical appearances. I'd love them unconditionally.

What would you do if your daughter came home pregnant? Let's be honest, I might be heartbroken. But I'd set the feelings aside and let her know that she's not ready to be a parent (before 20ish) and many people are out there at adoption agencies, desperately looking for kids to give them a wonderful home. Ultimately, the choice would be her's, but I'd emphasize the importance of selflessly giving the child the best future they could have and still preserving the future of my child as well.

I just knew everything since ... always. :D Funny, right? No, my mom says that one summer, when I was a year old, I asked her, why isn't she going to the see with me and my dad (we were on a vacation in Croatia). And they just told me everything about menstruation and also, where does babies come from. So, I'd do the same thing with my kid, cause a 1-year-old wouldn't be embaressed about it and with a teen, it's just weird.
