The Wii U looks great, along with it's HD graphics and it's capabilities.

Sorry if many people disagree, but I think the Wii-U is a stupid idea.
Firstly, its called the "Wii U"...like seriously, could Nintendo think of any other better names? At the moment it looks like a tablet with loads of controls stuck to it, yet its also a controller, which actually confuses me to an extent. Maybe if the controls detached...that could be an idea.
They also advertise it as a new way of "Online Gaming"...which is rubbish since it we had this in later Wii games any way.
The only feature I do like of this 'brick', is that it has the two cameras....wait.
Well, it seems that it only has a front facing camera. Too bad we cannot take photos of what we are looking at, like many new products coming out in this generation.
Also, Nintendo still havent even got the hint of capacitive touch screens. A lot of people like multi-touch, so why they stuck with single-touch (probably resistant) is pretty mind blowing at the moment. I mean, sure they could argue that it is needed for the stylus but then again, using a stylus that holds an electromagnetic charge would easily work on a capacitive touch screen.
Now the console itself doesnt look that bad. I'm glad that Nintendo have stepped up to the mark of finally producing HD graphics. Except...well...
We have consoles now being able to output in 3D...such as the Sony Playstation 3, so once again Nintendo may have done an upgrade but still haven't considered that other products can still offer more.
Nintendo havent really done much to the design either. Now they've just curved round the edges, plated it in metal (rather than cheap plastic) and shifted it horizontally. And it only stays horizontal as well. I was looking at the pictures, and since the sides are curved, there is no way of standing it up! Nice going Nintendo.
Edit: Oh and to add one, imagine the pain you'd have continuously looking to and fro between a tablet block thing and your TV. I mean, the DS was fine, your eyes move up and down slightly, but this is just taking to mick now.

You can't criticize the name.
Sony: Playstation 1, playstation 2, playstation 3. Whoa Sony, your imagination is blowing me away
You're complaining about it now having two webcams. You do realize it's not a cellphone or iPod right? Nintendo already made something with two cameras, the 3DS. I'm also pretty sure the webcam on the Wii U controller is HD. They're trying to make the Wii U have as much as possible, while keeping the production cost low enough to sell at a reasonable price.
About the 3D. Nintendo had 3D first. 3DS.
Who cares about external design. Shit man, whats on the outside doesn't matter.
Dude, it's not like you'd be moving your head more than a foot. You'd be moving your head slightly, barely. Like, 5 fucking centimeters. Not even. Your arguments are all cosmetic, the only thing I say I can agree on is the touch screen not using multitouch, but it's not that bad really.

Sorry that caught my eye.
It is a line of consoles.
The reason why the name is not different is the consoles are similar design throughout them all.
It would be stupid to divert something that has looked similar.
However the Wii-U sounds stupid as a name AND the device looks really different.
In my opinion this could have been the start of something big but re branding the name would have helped get rid of the "Wii" cliche stories and stereotypes

By naming the device by its successive sequential number is better than anything. Easy and Minimalistic. What do you suggest then? Call Playstation 4, Playstation Uberdubber 9000x? They are avoiding those cliche naming convention from the 90s/80s.

Nintendo's E3 presentation was disappointing to me (Well, E3 this year as a whole was pretty underwhelming). I was expecting some great first party titles to accompany Pikmin 3 around it's launch, but lol nope New Super Mario Bros. U, Wii Fit U and NintendoLand.
At least they have some decent third party support now, although they didn't need to dedicate so much time to showing it. Ubisoft seemed to be hijacking other companies' presentations quite a bit, especially Nintendo's. ZombiU at least looks interesting. It's nice to see a zombie apocalypse game revolve more around surviving than killing.
The name...well, after the jump from "Revolution" to "WIIIIIIIII", I've slowly become conditioned to expect and just block out any silly names Nintendo might come out with. I support Nintendo for their main franchises, not for their naming choices. It isn't going to affect the gameplay at all, so I ignore it.
They've still got the 3DS side of things to talk about later today, so hopefully we hear something good then. And hey, at least it wasn't as bad as their 2008 conference.

I mentioned that to show that the name doesn't matter. Why are people making such a big deal of it's name?

This isn't even a good enough point to argue. It's a name for fuck's sake, get over it. It's no different than Microsoft jumping from Xbox to Xbox 360. Aesthetics issue, moving on.
They also advertise it as a new way of "Online Gaming"...which is rubbish since it we had this in later Wii games any way.
Considering Nintendo wanted the Wii to have an online service to begin with, they should be happy they got it in the Wii-U. Nintendo is going to start competing with Sony and Microsoft for online gaming now, which is definitely something they should have gotten into when the original Wii came out.
Well, it seems that it only has a front facing camera. Too bad we cannot take photos of what we are looking at, like many new products coming out in this generation.
Then go and buy an iPhone if you want a picture taking camera. Why is this so important? Once again, aesthetic. Moving on.
This is, perhaps, the only point I agree on with you.

Oh you have to be kidding. 3D gaming is such a gimmick and should be canned. Once again, you're talking aesthetics and not actual hardware and software capabilities. The Wii-U is going to be able to render video just as well as the current line of PlayStations. If anything, it's good that Nintendo isn't doing the entire 3D gaming fad like Sony has.
Good Lord, do you have at least one other argument with true backbone? This is the problem: people like you are going to do nothing but look at the design. Hell, the thing could probably float in mid-air and you wouldn't be impressed.

The Wii-U looks pretty sweet. Can't really criticize it too much. Nintendo are good at creating cheap gimmicks though, and I'd rather use a good-old xbox 360 controller or mouse and keyboard than that box-screen thing. So, no-sale Nintendo.
Also, to put it bluntly, Nintendo suck at creating original IP's. They just keep putting out the same stuff with a new gimmick or skin. They just keep reviving old franchises, Mario, DK, Metroid (to a lesser extent), Kid Icarus, Wii Sports, etc. They are the chronicle masters at milking dead cows.
Since they have decent third-party support now though, it might not matter. Still if I was going to buy it, I'll wait for the inevitable price-drop.
