So this thread hasn't been made in a long time, might as well start it up again.

Personally, I love it.

For those that don't know what the fuck I'm talking about;

It looks horrible, and smells horrible and has a weird texture but it tastes fabulous. I suppose you could say it tastes like Twiglets. Assuming you've tried those, though.

It tastes very salty.

I personally LOVE vegemite. I first tried it in Germany because my host family thought it would be funny to see my reaction to it. My host sister had been an exchange student to Australia and she brought a jar home and everyone in my family hated it. I was given my first buttered toast with vegemite, took one bite, and promptly slammed it to the floor demanding, "Another!"

Or actually I just ate the whole thing and generally enjoyed it and have been slowly emptying the jar for the past few months.

It's a very salty spread for those of you who don't know it, best eaten thinly spread on buttered toast if you want my opinion. It's delicious.

Never had it, what it's made out of seems like it would have a kind of sketchy flavor... I'm hesitant to try it

Marmite is disgusting, my ex had me try it on toast one morning, it looks and smells like tar and tastes like i'm chewing on some dirt. Very strange texture, twiglets were a bit different, they turn your fingers black. lol

I've never had it, but I used to be vegan and ate a lot of meat substitues (not really sure if it's similar) and I loved them. I'd love to try it.

I've had Vegimite, (well, you're not Australian if you haven't atleast tried it), and it's not great.. Most people throw away the yeast extracts from beer, but we make it in to food *Yay*

Marmite is one of the nicest foods on the planet in my mind but I can't stand Vegemite. I do, however, like Aussiemite which is like a cross between Marmite and Bovril (Like a more meaty, savoury version of marmite).

Never heard of it - never tried it, and due to the fact that they're not sold here I don't know if I ever will.
