I am going to be starting therepy in a few weeks and wanted to know what the first session is like. Anyone who has gone, could you please tell me what happens during the first visit, like what they ask and what to expect? It would be very helpful. Thank You!

Well, at first it will just be going through the motions. Things like, how's school and who's in your family. Don't worry :) It'll be fine.

They will introduce themselves to you and ask you to be seated.

They will start by trying to break the ice and form a common ground to which you can stand on

They will then ask you why you've come. You then start to explain issues bringing you to said therapist

The therapist will analyse the data you give them in a clinical way, and make observations on specific remarks you make.

You must than take the therapist's remarks and recommendations and use them to the best of your ability.

Good luck. It works very well for most people.

they start by getting to know you. But over time you may start to hate it because from when i go im always being blamed for everything that happened to me. HOPE FOR THE BEST AND SEE HAPPENS.
