This isn't a problem with an ailment, but it is to do with an ailment nonetheless.

For a while I've had what I think is an epididymal cyst. When I first noticed it I was very worried, but now I'm not as anxious. However, I think I should still go and get it checked out with a doctor, just in case it is something else.

The problem here is that I'm 15, living at home with my mum and sister. I can't really go to the doctor by myself and I haven't told my mum. I want to tell her but I'm just so nervous and embarassed! She isn't a relaxed person, and I really wouldn't feel comfortable talking to her about anything of this nature.

What I need is advice. Do I tell her? How? Can I go to the doctor by myself? How can I get over my nervousness?

I'm hoping for someone who has been in a similar situation to hopefully give me some help overcoming my nerves.

I've never even heard of that, nor have I had an encounter with it, but I have a suggestion. tell another family member/relative first. If you're comfortable with your Aunt, Uncke, Grandparents then tell them first. Then, with one of yur relatives, sit down and have a talk with your mum. The other relative there will kepp your mum calm.

I think you should get it sorted as soon as you can, before it needs surgery. I am sure if I had one on my ball bag, I would be straight round to the doctors

You need to tell your mum. Say you have a 'guy problem' if you have to, but you need to get this taken care of, before you need surgery.

Yes, you should tell your mom or other relative and have it checked out by your doctor sooner than later. The longer you wait, the more serious it could become.

Tell your mom you need to see a urologist. If she doesn't say anything, just go and get diagnosis. If she does, like above, say it's a guy problem. She should respect you enough not to take it any further and take you to the doctor. When you turn 18 (in the US) you can go to the doctor without parental "assistance."

If it is rather large, also tell the doctor you are considering a spermatocelectomy. They can be performed on an outpatient basis. Also, if it is painful, this is not a spermatocele!

Hope you get it all figured out!
