Don't agree with the final decision of being put under supervision.

Porn is not to blame.
In some societies in history, this BOY would be castrated.

I agree this is a problem. When i was 12 i didn't even know what porn was let alone viewing it. But what can you do? That being said, raping someone goes beyond the boundaries of knowing what is right and what is wrong and whether this kid wanted to feel 'grown up' or not isn't the point.

WTF?
And no, porn is not the problem. It could be his parents. (?)

Wow, that boy watching porn had nothing to do with him deciding to rape that girl. This is only an opportunity for people to ban porn again. Its sickening that they're using this situation to promote their own agenda. That boy couldn't control himself. That isn't the porn industry's fault. I could write a song about killing someone, but if someone actually goes out and kills someone because I did, that isn't my problem. That is their problem. People need to stop trying to find ways to place blame on others and take responsibility for their own actions.

Why should we jump to conclusions when we don't even know anything about his parents?
Porn is definitely to blame. He took it very far though. It could be an underlying psychological problem, but maybe not. The parents need to get him help, in any case.

Personally, I feel like this problem was caused by a lack of education. The boy likely had no idea of the wrongs and rights of sexuality or how to behave sexually.

The parents really should have put some sort of blocker.

The parents really should have put some sort of blocker.
They didn't know that,
A. Their child would look at things like this.
B. Think it would have any major influence on him.
And let me ask you this, if your parents did that to you, wouldn't that make it feel like they don't trust you? I don't think they would want to do that.

Well, children that are on the internet are exposed to anything, so I really do think that the parents should have had a parental blocker to a certain age. And also, practically anything can have major influences on young people.
And also, my parents did have a blocker, until I was 13 in fact. And my understanding was that it was 'for my protection', which now I know.

I didn't even know what porn was when I was twelve, nor would I have known what sex was, or if it could make me pregnant... I think people learn about these things way too early nowadays...

Porn has nothing to do with this. I know this may sound harsh, but the kid was 12. The parents should have taken steps to educate him because I don't know about you guys but when I was 12 I knew that rape was wrong... I don't care what you think of me for saying this, that guy should have gotten more for what he did.

In some societies in history, this BOY would be castrated.
In some societies TODAY, this GIRL would be stoned to death for soliciting sex.
We live in a fucked up world.
it is this child's parents', the one's who brought him in to this world, responsibility to ensure this child knows what's okay and what's not. He's 12 years old. By this time, I already knew what rape was and that it was wrong.
I'd usually make a joke about Scottish people but this really isn't the place. The parents should be punished, the child should be punished, and it appears the schools once again need to take the wheel and explain to kids it's not okay to rape, seeing as these useless parents were unable to do so.

If the parents had brought him up correctly then he would have understood more about sex and porn, they also should have had a block on adult content, they did nothing in the ways of preventing this taking place

Exactly. He's a fucking pubescent boy, the parents should have given him "the talk" ages ago. They aren't entirely to blame, as a 12-year-old is capable of thinking rationally, but they did play a big part in this.
Poor girl :(

Now I notice this is uncannily similar to the boy who gave a blowjob to a goat.

That's different. That kid was sick in the head, this one just "wanted to feel grown up." You see adults doing stupid things like the goat story too.
And it was getting a blowjob from a goat, not the other way around.
I mean, when you were 12, you were reasonable enough to not go around raping people, right? You knew that it was wrong (I really fucking hope).

That's kinda sad. I don't think my parents ever taught me anything about porn sex or rape but I would never do it to any one. I'm sure a professional psychiatrist would help him a lot though.

A 12-year-old boy should not be viewing porn. A lot of the responsibility has to go to the parents clearly not monitoring their child's activity on the internet.
Most people of a mature age can watch porn for their own pleasure and not use it to get involved with sex crimes against children. This is undoubtedly a very disturbing case.
