desolation

I'm 18 and I've been cutting for around 5 years. It started off small, mostly scratches and small cuts. I did it when I was hurt and depressed. I progressively did it more often and cut a lot more at once. Now sometimes I can't even sleep unless I cut. I cut deep to where it doesn't stop bleeding for a while, and it makes me feel okay. I want to stop, but I seriously feel trapped by myself and like I have to cut. Things aren't very good for me right now :(

Maybe try and wait until a time when things are going better. It's easier to quit when your life is going smoothly. As for now, try to wean yourself off of the blade. It's hard but you can do it.
I know my faith isn't much, but I have faith in you.

Like Alex said, you don't have to quit cold turkey now (or ever, really ), since times are so bad. However, there are things that you can do.
Think about this: What do you do after you cut? You feel a bit relieved, and better about yourself. That feeling lasts for, sometimes, even less than 24 hours. The action is not worth the reaction, if you see where I'm going with that. It isn't worth hurting yourself, an amazing person, because of some rough times.
Think about [i]why you are cutting. Have you ever seen anyone? Would you ever consider it? It is a hard thing to do, but it's worth it.
Talking to a trusted friend, or even, a school counselor. If you're done with school, try you're general practitioner. The meeting, (in most places), can remain confidential, and they can refer you to someone who can help.
In the meantime, find ways to distract yourself. Do things you like. Start a big project you've always wanted to do, run, write, anything to get your mind off it.
Things will turn up eventually, no matter how bleak everything seems right now.
We are always here and able to help/talk to you as well.
