As of yesterday, I've been clean from self-harm for about five weeks. It's been really hard but I've managed to stay clean for that long. I never thought I'd get past two days.

I play ice hockey and I started noticing that after every practice and game, I'd feel really good about myself. I'd be so exhausted and happy and satisfied. It helped with the cutting a lot. After hockey ended, I started running instead of cutting or doing the off-ice workouts that I'd do with my team during the season. And ... it has helped a lot.

So...yeah. I just wanted to suggest working out instead of cutting or whatever self-harm methods you use. I know it might not help you but it helped me and anything's worth a try.

I do that when I have time to. Doing bike rides (Generally I ride five or more miles) helps me greatly when I feel the urge to cut, or am just generally depressed. I used to do Zumba a couple nights a week and that helps greatly too. Since working out burns calories and helps lift you towards a healthier life style it boosts your self image and releases the chemicals in your brain that help make you happy.

i work out at the gym 5 times/week and i need to do it, if i just miss one day of working out for a some bullshit reason il feel like shit.
i just got back to the gym from being ill and a back injury that keept me away from the gym for 3 weeks.
during this time my hate for my body just got worse and i started having panic attacks again.

one thing that bothers me is that the body i got now is more then what my goal was when i started and i thought i would feel better, but to i still feel as shit over my body as before, working out just makes it a bit easier to cope with.

i just wish working out would do more then keep my mind occupied for a while when it comes to the rest of my problems.

Working out really helps me :D It sort of puts the urges and emotions that are running through my mind into action. It really helps getting things out.

It's good that you're getting better!
Physical activity, especially cardio, is one of the best things for depression and mental issues.
Not only does it tire your mind and body out, the endorphin's released leave you on a high.
Keep it up and good luck!
