Out of interest, what are people's opinion on them?

I guess I mean Nikki Sixx more than anything. I've recently read both his books "The Heroin Diaries" and "This is Gonna Hurt". I've actually really enjoyed them and barely been able to put them down, and i've found that Nikki has a personality that I want to hate but just can't. He seems arrogant and extremely cocky, but at the same time he has a genuine nature that i've never really seen in anybody else.

Anyone else read them?

Or just have any opinions about either of his bands or him in general? :p

I just can't work him out as a person xD

I love Motley Crue, I'm seeing them for the 2nd time as a band (3rd time seeing Vince Neil) in August. As for Nikki Sixx, I really like him too. I follow him on Facebook and it's always entertaining.

I haven't read the books, but as a Crue fan I know a bit about him. He actually reminds me a bit of Gene Simmons, and what I've quoted I think you have spot on. With rock and roll bands, everyone has to be a front man/woman, not just the singer, guitarist, whatever, they all have to make you go "wow", in a good or bad way. I'll compare him to Gene Simmons here, arrogant and cocky are spot on. They both are very successful, talented men and they both portray an arrogant/cocky persona, but through books or TV shows, we get to see what they really are as a person, not the 10 foot tall and bullet proof figure they proclaim to be on the stage. The people like this, you know what to expect at a signing, concert, whatever, so you don't mind if they're a bit arrogant.

Personally, I agree that Nikki Sixx is genuine, and for that I can't help but like him. He may have his faults, but he accepts them. I'd much rather see someone be their true selves, then be a nice person throughout books and on stage and then be an asshole in real life. Touching on what I said before, the amount of times I've met a musician who on all fronts a nice person, turns out to be completely different in real life (unfortunately, Neal Schon is a perfect example :()

YESYESYESYESYES
I've read both of his books, loved both of them (The Heroin Diaries is easily the most fucked up book I've ever read), and I love Motley and Sixx:AM as well. Do you know that he was also in Brides of Destruction? They were a glam/metal/hard rock supergroup
