Yes, actually. The storming of the Bastille is viewed by many as the official start, or first real actions taken during the period of the French Revolution. Interestingly enough, though everybody says that they were there to free a load of prisoners, there were actually very few prisoners in the Bastille at the time, and the main motivation of the attack was to gain arms for defense, due to the rumors spreading at the time that the King had sent for more soldiers to occupy Paris and put down the rebellion. At least I think it went something like that.
If you like literature on the subject, you might try "A Tale of Two Cities," by Charles Dickens. Fascinating story, though in my humble opinion, slightly skewed on the subject of the overall conditions for the lower classes and their part in the motivation behind the Revolution.
On another note, my compliments on your writing. It's a strong subject, so far you seem well off.

Thanks you guys. I'm glad some people finally read my story. Yah, I'll consider reading that book. Sounds interesting. And thanks for the historical background info.
