Does anyone actually pay attention to age ratings on games? I play a lot of 15 rated games (I'm 13), but hardly any 18 rated.

I don't think many people do. Right now my 11 year old sister's watching a 15, It's usually only the cinemas that people stick the the ratings but even then you get people under 12 watching 12A's by themselves.
Games, i'm pretty sure it's the same, it's not usually bad to watch/play things younger than the rating, it's just reccomended.

No but I wasnt allowed (with my parents knowing) until certain ages.
I was allowed to watch/play 12's at 10, 15's at 13 and they dont care now.
But I was doing it before anyway, just without them knowing. :P

Only reason I payed any attention to them is to know if my parents needed to buy the game for me.

Parents didn't really care about the ratings at all, if I was paying it, then it didn't matter to them.

The age rating checks aren't so much a requirement as they are a guideline, with the exception of M-rated games(in some places) and AO-rated games. My parents were pretty lenient in terms of ratings, but then again, I didn't really start playing video games very much until I was 13 anyways.

Yeah I have been playing M games for years and I haven't seen a problem, but I don't usually play a lot of video games either.

I don't care about them as long as they are not rated 18+. The only 18+ games I play are the Call of Duty series.

There was a secret sex scene in GTA: San Andreas. All copies that had it were taken off the shelf and marked AO (Adults Only).

I personally don't give a crap and neither do my parents as long as I pay for the games.

That being said I don't need my parents anymore thanks to the broken age limit system in Australia and there being no R18 games.
