One of my friends is going through an interesting problem right now. His parents adopted his GF and she is now his sister. I am not joking. I feel so bad for him and when I go over to their house they act so awkward around each other. Is there no way I can help them get through this? Its not like his family cares since they're all "LOLOLOLOL NOT MY PROBLEM, SORRY KID" and its disgusting. What can someone do in a situation like this? It isn't natural.

It's not like they're blood related, but they're young so it can't be too serious of a relationship. Just let them break up and move on. It's like that episode of Law and Order where the kid got this girl pregnant, she got killed, turned out she was his blood sister because his dad had sex with her mom. :P

Um... Well... I guess they'll just have to get used to it. No way in hell they can date anymore, so :/ Life's a bitch that way sometimes...

I suppose they can still date... it's not their fault she got adopted... but still, it's probably better for them to move on.

Not blood related? Can be in a relationship (I think)
Blood related? Can't.

Correct. But it would still be awkwardly weird.

Call me unsympathetic, but EPIC FAIL! So, why did they adopt her? Did the parents know they were in a relationship? That's probably the most awkward situation ever.

Well...that's an interesting one. Personally I see no problem with it, since there's no blood relation. However, if the relationship were to get as far as marriage, a court and church will probably see a problem with it.

Well, they're not blood relatives, so it's acceptable for them to keep seeing each other if they want to.

Imagine how awkward those family dinners would be if they broke up on bad terms. Oh lawd.

I know in Australia they couldn't marry as such - yet they could if they were first cousins... bizarre huh?

Depending on the situation and there true feelings for each other is what will decide if they stay together or break up. they have the right to stay together... but i can see how it would be awkward...

Aww, that sounds rough.. well, like everyone else has said, they aren't blood related, sure, some of his family members may be like ''OH LOL LOOK, LOOK, THEY'RE KISSING OMG I HAVE TO PUT THIS ON FACEBOOK!'' but, if they love each other, they should be together :) You can comfort him by telling him that there is nothing wrong in still dating, they aren't blood related, and if they love each other, go for it. :)

Why'd they adopt her

I don't think there is much they can do. Did the parents know they were together when they adopted her?

Well I think a lot would depend on age. And secondly, why they adopted her.
if she was adopted because of a bad family environment situation then it wouldn't be too awkward if they acted like she just moved in, if they were serious. I'm assuming their around your age, so hopefully it lasts okay for twoish years and then if they break up they won't have to live together anymore.

The good part is they are together now. But I would say they should move on with their feelings.
I know the situation will be very awkward if they broke up in bad terms.
