I'm looking for video editing software to work on the footage I get when I play paintball. Unfortunately, I'm broke and really don't want to spend a lot of money and I also don't want to use Pirated software(I would feel guilty). Any recommendations?

You can easly get some awesome editors to do it for you for under 5$.

But otherwise you can get a free trial version of Camstia studio.

If you are on Mac, iMovie is a great way to start.

You should get any Sony Vegas series. It is a professional software that has all you need, Even green screen effect and many many more effects. They can be expensive, but I would look around on Amazon for good deals. I use Sony Vegas Studio Platinum 10, and I got that off of Amazon for about $60 when they can be over $150 depending on what you get. If you look around on Amazon, you will probably find one for a good price under $100.

He said he's broke, what makes you think he'd want to spend $60 on professional software when a lot of the features he probably does not even need. Why would he need chroma keying effects (green screen) for paintball footage?

Personally, I'd say try iMovie (if it came with your Mac) or download Windows Live Movie Maker (for your Windows PC). Windows Live Movie Maker is free, and it has many video tools which can make great videos. It's not as basic as just cutting and pasting clips, you can also add transitions, titles clips, credits, effects etc. I'd say try it out, you've got nothing to lose (except a tiny bit of disc space)

Always head for the free and open-source cross-platform non-linear video editors.

These are my recommendations. Fuck expensive software, when you have free of the same variety.

I should have mentioned this, but I run a pc with windows 7 64bit.
I did find vegas studio platinum 11 for $50, which is a steal. So I will keep that in mind since I get paid this week. I'll take a look at Windows live movie maker but i am a bit skeptic since the last time I tried using a windows movie maker, I hated it.
The comparison and review guide gave unusually high marks to the Cyberlinks power director software, which I am looking into.

I appreciate all the help and I will keep you all posted.

I dont know what is expensive to him. I was just trying to help him out, which is why I said to look on Amazon for good deals and such.

Windows Movie Maker. If you know how to work it right, it's not terrible.

Mac: iMovie
Windows: Windows Movie Maker (on windows 7, it can be downloaded here) (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-live/movie-maker-get-started)
Both are free and work relatively well and responsive for what they provide.

The reason why I mentioned a more Higher End software is because you can do more with it, which means you can be more Creative. Whatever it is that you do, you can always be Creative. Once you play around and learn how to use some features, you will get to like some of them and use them in some projects. Thats why I mention Sony Vegas or any other Higher End editing software. So, whatever it is that you buy, I hope you have fun with it.
