Applying to jobs, people ask me why I'm applying so late. I have to lie and say it's because of family health issues. Really, it's because I was experiencing severe depression and could barely go to school let alone apply for jobs. What do I say? Do I tell the truth? Would it show maturity or good character to apologize to somebody and tell tem the truth? Of course I would let them know that I'm better now.

What do you think?

I don't understand what you mean by applying late?

But either way telling the truth would be a better option you'd be surprised about the amount of people who've suffered depression and depression will be in your health records so they'll see you have it anyway.

It's a golf course and it's a little late in the season for applications. I feel kind of bad. Should I go back to the guy at the golf course and apologize for not telling the whole story? What I told him really did happen with family health and that; but the reason was really my depression.

If he/she calls you back for an interview I'd explain then.

I said what I did in the interview.
