Hello all I want to ask a few questions..
I am circumcised and I'm not jewish, I got it because it's a way to keep it cleaner and it prevents more deceases and so does my cousin.
I do have a friend who is circumcised and not jewish but the rest of my friends are not (they told me)
And few days ago I was talking with a few friends on the bus about cirmucised penis and whatnot also with some girls, they said is nothing wrong to be or not to be and I know that, I love having my cleaned head. lol.
How many of you are or not? and jewish or not?
Thanks
novachris

circumcision isnt just based on judism now. its healthier to be cut because of all the diseases it prevents.

Aha, like many said, circumcision isn't based on Judaism anymore, but it does have something to do with your location.

It doesn't "prevent" anything. The amount of ignorance surrounding circumcision is baffling.
Do you get diseases from leaving your fingernails unclipped? Do you get diseases from not washing behind your ears?
It's quite scary that people seem to think cutting off parts of their genitals makes them immune to diseases... I'd hate to think the kind of unsafe practices that line of thinking might lead to.

There is no evidence that being circumcised prevents diseases.

Uncut and not really religious. The whole "cut is cleaner and prevents diseases" thing is proven to be untrue, it's mostly americans who still believe that.

Circumcision is outdated and barbaric. It's 2012 AD, not 3000 BC!

Misonception: Circumcision prevents diseases. No, it prevents phimosis and paraphimosis [types of tightening of the foreskin]. It doesn't prevent any other disorders or diseases.
One can still get UTI's, HIV, Herpes, Hepatitis and all other STD's, and pass on HPV to women. One can still get penile cancer.
Phimosis and paraphimosis aren't worth getting cut for, they can be cured without losing the best part.

I'm cut, but I'm not Jewish. You don't have to be Jewish to be cut. It's a tradition and an advised medical procedure to prevent certain infections and diseases.

Actually, circumcision is proven to prevent certain infections and diseases. A lot of doctors advise males to be circumcised at a young age, 9 or 10 for example. And if you need a reference, refer here on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circumcision#Effects).

Don't rely on Wikipedia without checking the sources. There are a lot of religious groups who are poisoning the well and creating a great degree of bias towards their view point.
If the benefits are so positive and uncontested, please explain why circumcision is ILLEGAL in Germany and not available on the national health programmes of many countries including the UK except for exceptional cases?
The World Health Organisation (http://www.malecircumcision.org/media/documents/MC_Global_Trends_Determinants.pdf)research is clearly AGAINST routine circumcision. In their study they clearly state that while it is advisable in some circumstances those do not include routine circumcision in the first world.
Those who mis-interpret such statements are cherry picking to prove their own point. Here is the summary of the World Health Organisation section dealing with health benefits of circumcision:
Male circumcision is medically indicated for only a few conditions. There is substantial evidence that circumcised men have a lower risk of some reproductive tract infections, as well as penile cancer, but some of these conditions are rare while others are uncommon or treatable, and routine neonatal circumcision is not currently recommended on medical grounds.
Note the highlighted portion.

We have our own stands.
What does that even mean?
I've responded to your incorrect claims of 'proof' with logic and supporting facts - is this what you consider a rational rebuttal?
