Okay to I'm in a tight situation, I cut 20 times on my left forearm 3 days ago. The cuts aren't open and the skin is starting to heal. I put lotion on it everyday. On June 1st I have to go to my cousin's graduation party and I have to wear a strapless dress. My mom won't let me wear a jacket on top and a shawl won't cover it :/ Do you think it will clear up in time? Foundation only conceals scars not cuts, so I can't use that unless it clears up. Is there anything I can put on it to help heal the skin faster?

Well it really depends but if it's scabbed over after 3 days you have a week left I would just take your chances with it, there really isn't much you can do apart from put things on it to try and speed up the process. I would try Vitamin E, you can get them in capsuales and if you just break open a capsual and rub it into your skin then it's great for scar tissue and things but I don't know about speeding up the healing process.
You can always resort to makeup, I know it wont completly hide them but it can at least make them a little less noticable.
Oh and don't try and remove the scab, let it heal because picking at it will almost definitly make the scarring worse. Also, just found this (http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=13911) website, it might give you some ideas of products you can use or even get for the future (I have only ever used Vitamin E though so don't quote me on them being any good)

You have a week until the graduation so by then you should be able to put foundation on it to cover it up somewhat. Put concealer down first, hair spray it, and then put foundation on it, hair spray it again. Remember to keep your arm close to your body, I usually would walk around with my arm up in some way (it sounds weird looking, but it was very oddly casual, and no one ever noticed). Wear a long necklace so you can usually fiddle with it using the arm you cut on, thus concealing it more. If you act casual, no one will notice.

okay thanks everyone...

I just took a shower and they don't look as noticeable as before. Is that normal? or is that equivalent to picking at the scab?

Naw. You're like me. It takes all of a week for mine to fade out. They should be rather faded by the time the graduation rolls around. If not, fake a cold, and I bet your mother will let you wear a jacket. I've done that before.

also, maybe put on some bracelets? Maybe an arm band? or you could get a purse and just put the straps over your forearm like you are holding it

It may not cover them all, but the less they can see the less noticeable they will be :)

I don't think so, I think if she were to cover a small area, it would make the remaining more noticable...
