Okay, so, for the past few weeks ive been really itchy down south. there is a layer of skin missing and yeah its really beginning to hurt. I asked a close male friend and he said i had it. I googled it and the symptoms fit, but, I don't do any kind of sport and like aviod all PE lessons like they are disease. Although, in saying that, I am a dancer. So, assuming i have jock itch, what do i do to get rid of it. . . i tried baby powder and that stuff, and it helped a bit, but yeah, im getting desperate. :what:

Also, keep the irritated area properly moisturised during the day. And rather wear boxers to stop further irritation from the fabric.

Jock itch is a fungal rash, it's actually the same bacteria that causes athletes foot and ring worm. To get rid of it buy some anti-fungal soap and put something like Lotroman Ultra on it a few times per day, it should clear up rather quickly.

Isn't it actually a bacterial infection if it stays long enough? I know enough from classes that if you have any type of bacterial problem, if it gets into a cut, it can become infected and then enter your blood stream and spread. So can't jock itch spread then? But yea definetly keep it dry because fungus needs moisture, but not desert dry. If you get baby powder or Gold Bond or something, regular application will definetly help. If you can't buy anti-fungus creams, Neosporin prevents infection and kills bacteria.

First off, you shouldn't be self-diagnosing yourself.

second, if it is jock itch, you should wash yourself thoroughly, make sure to wear clothing that breathes (to prevent sweat.... this is a huge cause.)

and try to use lotramin, or some kind of anti-fungal soap/creams.

I had a similar problem, and the doctor recommended REALLY washing thoroughly down stairs. ( I use a.... loufsa? or something... It's like a puff ball thingy... and just scrub that area. Ive never had any odor, or itch since. :D)

I get really itchy. I know from past experience that just scratching it makes it worse and hurt. Leave it alone, wash thoroughly and you'll be fine.
