Hi guys, I just wanted to know what you guys thought about High School Wrestling. I wrestle for my high school's wrestling team as a freshman and there wrestling isn't really seen as like an easy or "gay" sport and is pretty much up there with football, ice hockey, and lax, unlike other schools I've seen. I know though that lot's of people view it as this way so just post your view or opinion on this sport. You can also post your opinion on the top hardest high school sports. Thanks :)

The reason people think wrestling is gay? The outfits and the rolling around with other men. It can be as tough a sport as any, but the idea is pretty gay.

A few of my friends wrestle, and have wanted me to join in the past. I don't like the idea of full on contact with strangers like that, skin to skin, sharing sweat, germs, bacteria, fungus, infections, all of that lovely stuff... So that's the reason why I never joined the team.

As someone who wrestled varsity in high school, I have the utmost respect for wrestlers. In my opinion, having done football and basketball, wrestling is by far the most physically demanding sport. Unfortunately, some guys are somewhat creeped out by the one-pieces and the actual wrestling itself, what with all the contact, but those guys usually don't appreciate how truly difficult it is. Wrestling has been around for thousands of years but has unfortunately lost the respect it deserves.

I guess we're a wrestling family, my brothers both went to states for it, my father the same back in his day. As for me, I never had interest, I'm not at all athletic and it honestly looks extremely difficult. I also can't stand sweat and that would disgust me

I agree with everyone one above wrestling in my opinion is one of the most physically demanding sports out there. Even though I'm Bi I don't get a hard on or anything when I'm wrestling and it's not like I go out of my way to grab the guy I'm wrestling balls or dick. I hate the stereotype people put on wrestling.

My take on this - just do the sport you want to do = everybody can have an opinion just some are better ignored -
I love horse riding and show jump - some guys say its more a girl thing
Some will see it as gay but wrestling has gotta be one of the oldest sports around
Good excersise new friends etc what could be better

I'd say wrestling is one of the most ancient and manliest sports out there. It was created in Greece, where just about anything would go, and was a test of your strength. And you guy's think wearing singlets are gay? Back then, they wrestled naked.
