Do you think it was too cruel?

A very interesting news story from India.

A man who had a history (and convictions) of sexually assaulting and raping young girls was again recently released without sentence following the rape of an 8 year old girl. It is almost certainly a case of corruption which has led to his never being sentenced despite the overwhelming evidence of his guilt.

In the most recent case, 7 women ranging in age from 19 to 37 (several of whom had daughters who fell victim to the man) took revenge against him. After luring him to a house in the village, the women accosted him, stripped him, and tied him to the floor. A cage was placed on his mid-section, and his penis inserted into it. the cage contained several rats which proceeded to eat off the man's penis. Following this, the women used a brick to castrate him as well.

Police are receiving no assistance from locals in identifying the women. Police believe it is a case of community wide vigilantism.

Now I don't generally support people taking the law into their own hands, but clearly the system (a corrupt one at that) was not working as it should since it kept releasing this man.
So in this case, I actually condone what these women did. What about you? I certainly don't feel bad for the man!

I also find their method to be ... creative. What about you?

Creative.

I think if the police are not going to pursue or keep the offended in lock-down.. people should take action.

They could have murdered him really.

Yeah, I think the whole thing is that the police were doing fuck all and some of the women actually had children who had been assaulted by him. He got exactly what was coming and everything he should get and I don't think the women should see any punishment (or at least lessened as the law doesn't often coincide with my beliefs). Never go after cubs as the mother lion is going to fucking kill you. But no, I don't think they should have killed him, just exactly what they did, I would have done as well if it was my child (though maybe without the rats. Poor rats!) Everyone deserves life, but I have admired older cultures whose sentencings for crime were not jail or death, but castrating rapists, cutting off the hands of thieves, etc. While I wouldn't go as far as to cut someone's hands off, I've always thought that sex offenders don't deserve their reproductive organs if they're going to "abuse the power."

He deserved this for what he did. The women should not be punished, I would have done it too if he'd attacked my daughter.

I also think he deserved it, and I can understand why the women did it.

For those of you who condone what they did, did you find their method (the use of the rats) to be appropriate, or would it have been too slow and painful?

Creative.

Why did you find it especially creative? Obviously it would have been slow and painful, and also humiliating.

I'm not sure obviously the emotional side of me would agree that I can see why they'd do it, and why it might be thought wrong to punish them.

But really, we can't pick and choose who we punish and what laws we enforce sure the situation should be taken into consideration but those women should be punished too. What they did was still wrong no matter what the man had done, we can't teach the children of society that that is justice.

I think that what those women did was wrong. They shoud have called the police and let justice system of the country where they lived take action, i'm pretty sure there is in every prision inmates who would love to take care of people like that.
Same happened in Brazil a while ago i think. Some people cut the dick of a rapist put in in his mouth and then killed him. There is pic's of that that i will not share because they are fucking disgusting.

So are you saying you feel sorry for the man?

I think that this was a great move on the women's part, as it not only gets revenge on the man, but also is a great example for other women living in similarly patriarchal societies.
I pray for the courage to do what they did...

Do you approve of the particular method they used? If so, why?

I think it's disgusting.

We don't know exactly why the guy kept being released. Maybe it wasn't corruption but procedural problems, and I can't see the article but maybe the evidence wasn't strong enough (in some justice systems circumstantial shit carries very, very low weight).

I'll be the first to admit that sometimes law and justice are two completely different things, but it's not worth stepping down to the level of an enraged mob. Imagine if people could mob some poor bloke who really didn't do it and who got released but the vigilantes have a totally different opinion. Or imagine if they could mob somebody bailed on his own recognizance or for a sum of money because they don't like it? Nobody sane can condone vigilantism, especially when 95% of people don't understand how courts work.

The justice system might not be perfect, but popular "justice" is even less so. Investigate the "corrupt" judge and tell your daughters to stay the hell away from creepy men. However, it's not worth ruining your life to see somebody punished, it's not worth to degrade yourself to the level of a primitive tribal mob to see "results" that may ultimately do more harm than good. These women should be jailed, not lauded as heroes.

Frankly I'm a little appalled that people here even support that kind of thing.

Peace God

in support of this shit! especially when the justice system continually insults the humanity of these women.

I think he deserved it. I know my dad and mom would have done the same. I'm sure it was slow, painful, and humiliating.....exactly how those little girls felt I'm sure.

So ... I'm guessing you don't have a lot of sympathy for him. :) Me neither!

I'm sure it hurt like crazy, and probably wasn't very quick, but I think the method was ... creative, and appropriate.

I also agree that this was justice! Brutal perhaps, certainly painful and humiliating for the man, but all those words also describe the horrible crimes he committed.

I certainly don't have any sympathy for him, and am proud of these women.
