My friend and I need help

Ok, so my friends dad recently died (about 5 monthes ago i think) and I'm not sure what to do. She usually calls me wanting to talk and most of the time I'll be there on the phone with her talking. As of now all i think i can do is just be there for her when she needs me and comfort her as much as i can. the only problem i have is when she starts crying because she misses her dad. Can anyone give me any insight here on this?

theres nothing you can do. unfortunantly you dont understand what shes going through. just let her know that you're there for her, and that even though hes gone, hes looking down on her, and she has her memories with him.

One of my best friends' brother died just Monday, and I understand your feeling of helplessness. I just make sure I call her at least once a day, ask her how she's doing, make sure she's taking care of the usual stuff like eating regular meals and getting enough sleep, and I also make sure she's always got someone there with her-since I can't be with her myself. And I always close by telling her to hang in there and just take it one day at a time.
