Hyperlinks

Shey guys and gals, I was wondering how people get a hyperlink into regular text like a mod will say thr forum rules «here» and the word HERE would be like highlighted. Whrn I try, it just shows up as a long link like www.google.com/smething/smething.else
Help is appreciated :)
P.S when I clicked post, the google thing showed up as a link idk why

Just no space in between / and url, so it would look like /url

All I did was take out the space between the / and the u in url

There's another way. When you are editing something in the standard editor, highlight the text you want to make a link of, like so:

Next, click the http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/images/styles/silverblue/editor/createlink.gif button, while still keeping the text highlighted. A message will come up, asking you to enter a link. Enter it, then click OK.

And voila, the same result as before. Btw, perhaps you want to see the help page on BBCode URLs (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/misc.php?do=bbcode#url) for more help. You can get to it quickly by looking in the bottom left corner on the pages with a post box.
