mental health exams?

I'm getting ready to go to college and I'm looking at my options. I want to work for the police or government for forensic psychology or intelligence. The problem is I have Major Depression with suicidal and a self-mutilation addiction. I have been treated for the past four years and am stable.

Does anyone know if I would pass the mental health exam? According to my friend she says I probably wouldn't even allowed to be armed.
