I know this is annoying, but you have to realize that this only means she cares enough about you to fight dirty.
You do, however, have every right to be mad.

That just means she cares enough about you to try and help you.

What would really be bad... is if she did nothing, and just went on like nothing is wrong.

You have all the right in the world to be mad, but she did it out of your best interest. If she told you she was about to commit suicide, you'd just say "Okay I won't tell anyone"?

Well, chances are, you trusted the right person. She didn't do what you wanted her to do by any means, but she did what she thought will help you. Sometimes, parents ignore this stuff, because to them it's a phase. I hope to god your parents are like this. you have every ounce of good thoughts I have in my body pushed towards you right now. However, if it gets too much to handle, or your weight drops dangerously low, I highly suggest seeking medical help.

I really have to disagree with some of y'all. Yes she should have done something to try to help but going straight to you're parents is just too far. If he has tried everything else first then it's ok but only as a sorta last resort. And at the very least she shouldnt have told your parents but gotten a consoler to deliver the news since they know how to deal with this stuff.
But yes she should have done something just not go straight to the parents.

Her parents are the best thing to help her right now. A friend going to a counselor won't do much. Her PARENTS going to a counselor will help loads.
..My opinion of the OP's problem is reflected above, so..

Like a lot of other people have stated, she wouldn't have told about you if she didn't care.

Real friends are willing to loose friendships and break trust if it means keeping their friend safe. Now that the cat's out of the bag, hopefully this can help you get some help for your Ana.

Your friend did the right thing. She told your parents because she cares about you.

That's being a good friend. ;)
