Ok im sick of this worlds society and all the criminals. jail isint enough. criminals dont think or care. i recently read a manga called death note. its about a guy who obtains a notebook which is able to kill sonewone by writting there name in it. he uses it to kill criminals. But i realised something like this needs to happen. at least if the death penalty was for alot of things. jail isint doing anything and society gets more fucked up every minute. in my opinion inthink something like this needs to happen. even theving should be classified as a death sentance..get what im saying. we need to get the criminals terrified and make them think. whqt do u think about this and something like this. i think more of it needs to happen!

Ugh, I hate it when people read Deathnote and don't realize that the main character is more vile and atrocious than any of the criminals he kills.

That's the ENTIRE POINT of the series. To show the evils of vigilante justice and how large scale disproportional justice only turns societies into totalitarian hellholes. The former is never as clear as fiction makes it seem and the latter keeps populations in check with the fear of punishment.

You know the kinds of places in real life that do this, right? China, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, etc. These are all rather shitty places. Plus the death penalty is magnitudes more expensive than prison and doesn't really deter crime.

Truly no offense, but your views are naive at best. First of all, most criminals do think and definitely care. The majority of crime is committed out of sheer necessity. Instead of trying to change the punishment, we need to focus on improving the conditions that lead to crime and changing the culture in general. Unfortunately but not surprisingly, the majority of crimes are committed by those living in or near poverty, often in poor neighborhoods. It is towards those areas that we should focus on improving. First and foremost, we need to change the education system, for it is failing far to many kids that could otherwise lead good lives. We also need to decrease the rate of unemployment, especially in the poorest neighborhoods, while increasing the minimum wage.
These are only a fraction of the problems facing the poorest in the country and much work needs to be done to improve their living conditions. Instead of whining about how bad the justice system is, see what you can do to help in your city. Personally, I volunteer as a tutor to impoverished kids who would otherwise have no help in their schoolwork. Look for opportunities like that to help and encourage others to do the same. We can't only rely on the government to help, we need to go out and help the problem ourselves, instead of only complaining about it.

You know why most people are criminals? Because they can't provide for them and their families.

They can watch their children and wife starve... or they can do illegal things to feed those people and make them prosper.

You want to blame someone? Blame your government.

Ok the world is fucked up..i know alot people that read deathnote might say these stupid things.. but its just..there trtimg to fix criminals once at a time. it aint workin ...much. Something really needs to change when people realise we are only but maggots rotting in the filth of our own courruption. and thats what humans are. we are rotting in our own courruption...and something defeniatly needs to change. when people get wiser in the future. something will happen that will change the way we live for a lomg time. i just dont know when its gonna happen. because soon enough we wil all be roted and destroyed by our own couruption and war. that kind of stuff
