Hello everyone, I'm new here. But straight to the point.
My best friend's 15, she's been wanting to join the army since she joined cadets since she was 13. She suffers from depression, and it's actually extremely bad, she's attempted suicide, and she's been fighting it for a few years.
The thing is she hasn't got any help besides going to the school nurse who she sees every two weeks, which I believe doesn't make that much a difference- and in my opinion isn't that good, I'm speaking from experience.
She refuses to get help because it will go on her record and she won't be able to join the army after all the work she's done. I go to cahms every week and I briefly spoke to someone about this and she said something about going privately, I googled it but I couldn't find anything because I didn't know how to word it exactly. But if any of you have ever heard of it or have done it PLEASE let me know.
I try to help her a lot but I have my own problems which are very similar to hers, so we just don't talk about it in case it triggers any feelings, which I am sometimes ok with but I really wish she would talk to me more about it.
If any of you are going through the same thing as her, please I would appreciate any advise about how you're going about it, or what do you think she should do?
I love this girl more than anything. I want her to be happy and I want her to do what she loves, she really needs help and I don't know what I'm supposed to do to help, could you please help me?
Thank you in advanced. I'm sorry if this was really long.
