Well, no I haven't done it, but I've heard of this before.
I mean its not normal in the sense that everyone does it all the time, but it most certianly isn't unheard of or done by many people.

Haha it's not weird at all. At some point we all get bored of just masturbating normally, so some of us try experimenting with things like that. I've never heard of this technique specifically... but I own a fleshlight, so I use that for the same thing you're doing :P.
