Okay, the good thing about my Headset is that i can just get a new cord if one breaks. however I'm going through cords like crazy and one I just bought about 3 weeks ago is already starting to short out. and its due to the cords always getting trapped under my laptop and get taut to where the wires inside break. Can someone suggest a good Heavy-duty Auxillary cord that will last me a good while? Or should I just make my own cord using some good o' trusty copper wire like they used to make headphone cords with?

...Or maybe you should be a little more careful.

If you have the knowledge on how to make a wire like that id say do it but if you dont dont do it you could hurt yourself

Don't even TRY making your own cord. You can fuck up easily and get shocked bad as a result. Just get a new cord and be careful about where you leave it. Obviously this is simple user error and hopefully you learn not to leave it under your laptop.

I've done things like this before and I never leave it under it just manages to end up pinched under my laptop and I don't realize it untill only my left speaker is working, then I have to get it out from under and it just ends up like that again later. I'm also looking up diagrams on how to make the connections. since none of the wires I ever find last me a while.

Try this for when you coil the cable

It's very easy to harm the cable when coiling/wrapping it. This will prolong the life by putting minimum pressure on the cable itself. Also, if it's getting taught, maybe get a longer one?

9 times out of 10, cables fail due to mistreatment.
