How to deal with girls?

Ive had some problems dealing with girls in person. I have been out with some but I really want to know how to identify if girls like you? Do you girls actually tease a boy if you like him...or talk bad about a boy when in fact you like him..this has not happened to me, but just asking.

Do girls like smart boys who ace in examinations. People call my cousin a nerd, but he's damn smart and quite quit going but no one takes him in their group. So he feels out of place. Do suggest me something I could tell him.

One more thing, how do you dress up well in accordance to a girls liking.

What ive learned from experience is you cant always tell if a girl likes you but you can make her loke you what i do is i flirt a little and have 2 or 3 serious/personal conversqtions and they always end up telling me they like me or have feelings for me, and girls also like cofidence which is why i think they tend to most of the time go out with douche bags because they are very confidence.
