Wrong category. This should be in the music forum. (Don't know how to report it)

Oh and the answer to your question is computers. Can't really get much more detailed than that.

Most dubstep is made on computers..not many instruments involved at all, if any. I'd say invest in some decent software, and maybe a computer. Other than that, I've got no Idea where to start.

I think you might get some better answers in the music section, so I'm going to move this there.

A laptop?

An Apple laptop, mind you. Because normal PeeCees doesn't work. Apple, it just works. You will have FL studio, Ableton Live, Cubase, Reaper and other shit like that. Because PeeCee is shit.

So buy a Laptop that's worth a worker's monthly salary. It'll be real good for you to make dubstezz.

Well, you need a laptop. Macbooks work best imo. You also need a DAW program for your computer. Popular ones are Team AiR, FL studio, Ableton Live, Cakewalk Sonar X1, Cubcase, and Reason. You also need VSTs, which make the amazing sounds you hear in alot of dubstep songs. It's not like you can go out and make a song just like Skrillex, creating synths from these VSTs take A LOT of practice and time. All this shit costs about $100 - $600, then the VSTs cost more. So if you wanna do it legally.. it's gonna be expensive.

Good VSTs are NI Massive, Nexus, Toxic Biohazard, Omnisphere, Albino 3, and Traktor.

I don't like most dubstep anymore, but I used to wanna do the same thing. It's not easy, but if you enjoy the genre then go for it.

And yeah, knowing how to play and using a keyboard helps too.

A MIDI/USB controler (keys and pads and whatever you think might be useful) , the brands i trust the most are Akai and M-audio
