Some people believe that the distribution of condoms* in places like schools and clinics* is a way of promotiing sex to teens

Others simpley believe that, it is just a way to educate teens to be safe while having sex

What do you guys believe? Do condoms advocate people to go out and have sex or do they just tell people to be safe?

well to me it seems kinda both i mean some teens already do that and also it teaches them to have safe sex to me it seems mostly to have safer sex but that is also basically telling em to have sex very confusing

I think it's both. I think there shouldn't be condoms in schools, but in bars and clinics that cost little or nothing.

Clinics are fine, not schools.

I agree with this, and that condoms don't promote sex. Teens are already interested. Giving out condoms promotes to teens that if they insist on doing it, they should at least do it safely.

I don't think it's the school's job to hand out condoms, but they shouldn't stop a club or individual with a viewpoint from handing them out, as long as it's clear they don't represent the school. Furthermore, I don't think schools should teach abstinence-only education. Teach about condoms, and tell kids how to get them if they need them.

I dont think condoms promote sex, but tell people to be safe. BUT, most people can get the idea that it's okay to have sex if youre wearing a condom.

Well I stay in Scotland and over here giving out condoms in schools is illegal because it has been proven people just use them. No protection is what puts a lot of people off of sex. So yeah I think it shudn't be. Also people were blowing them up and bouncing them down corridors though thats just immature. But if you have already made ure mind up about having sex I don't see the harm in going to a clinic and asking for a condom.

How about you just read it and see that you're not supposed to post links when you've got under 10 posts and just edit it or something instead of double posting because you got a little mad??

It's a double-edged sword. You can't get the at my school, but you can get them from the Planned Pregnancy Clinic for free. It seems that a lot of people at my school wonder where to get them because they're too embarassed to actually buy them at a store.

i personally wouldnt be embarrest at all to buy them. It isent really the schools job to be giving kids condoms anyway, your there to get an education. If you want to engage in sexual activities outside of school then you should take the time to go to a drug store and buy them. If your too embarrest or immature to buy condoms yourself then you probably arent ready for sex.
