How close are you with your family?

Only come out if you feel like doing it. For your parents, it depends how close you are. Cheers ;)

Many people believe that their love-life is a private matter, and no one else's business. This especially applies if you are not that close to your parents.
But it might be a bit of a shock for your family when they do find out or care to find out. They might be upset that you were not completely honest with them. Also, your boyfriend might even want to meet them. What then? Also, don't you think they have the right to know you properly?
I'm not saying you should come out right now. Just whenever you feel is the right time. Goodluck!

I think my parents would be particularaly upset if I moved away, didn't come out and turned up at Christmas or something with a bf. Perhaps you ought to look in the long term with where you want to be, perhaps instead of running away from your "problem" you should face them. This is just my opinion, and the opinion my parents expressed when I said I was moving away, they felt I was running away from my problems.

Of course its natural to be scared! If you really wanna come out you have to work through it :)

Personally, I'd only come out if I got a boyfriend. It wouldn't be fair on them to just rock up with a boyfriend one day.
