When will world begin to sell everyday items with Holograms, or making everyday jobs/tasks easier with Holograms??? I mean, I have always wanted to go up town and walk into walmart or something and have hologram signs and stuff everywhere. Having Holograms can change the world a lot. By having them on everyday items, it would make the job you do with that item more easier and advanced. What are your thought and stuff about Holograms???

How would it make things easier? If anything, it would distract me from work. I could see this being applied to education. It's much easier to understand something if there is a moving 3D model to show.
Really, I bet that they will become more popular as soon as they become advanced enough to easily distribute. But honestly, most hype comes from how cool it looks.

My guess, it will take 20-40 years.I mean, for it to get cheap enough so pretty much anyone can buy it.

Well, first things first, real holograms have to be developed. Currently things still have to have a projection surface to be put up, like the Tupac concert we saw at Coachella. The exception is when rooms are specifically built for them, which on a small scale is displayed by the little UFO shaped mirror discs which make the image above them. This is too expensive to be done anytime soon, the closest we may get to "holograms" anytime soon is images projected onto either specially treated glass, or onto vapor screens as seen in Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
Look into Augmented Reality. Virtual screens and "projections" are probably on a faster track IMO (see Project Glass) than holograms. What I expect is you'll be wearing a screen over one eye, and QR codes or RFID chips will be placed in various places, your phone will recognize these, look up what it is, and then place the image onto the screen in your vision where the barcode/signal is.

Yeh exactly there still in develoment and i dont think our technolgy is adanced enough for this. and if holograms do come around i dont think thell be commercial. if that happens it will happen in the distant future. also holograms wont look like what we see on tv. they wont be thqt simple..

Not true. I've actually seen a credible video of some guy who developed a hologram that was free of being projected on a surface. It involved a hyper fast beam of light. It was really rough and still in early development. Plus, I would imagine that it could harm your eyes if you looked directly into the beam.

Do you have any links? This sounds cool!

theres many many ways to make 3D holographic projections. I've seen videos where the hologram is encased in glass and is projected from the bottom I suspect the glass is semi reflective so you can see through only one side. and these are one of the more contained versions but are much cheaper than more real holograms. however I do admit the matsune miku hologram concerts look pretty cool, compared to 3D charactors in filmed movies.

No I do not. I saw this a long time ago. But I'm pretty sure it was legit.
