They are extremely helpful, but sure, there is a very minimal chance of them breaking. Buy a good brand, make sure it isn't expired, and don't rip it open with your teeth!
It's also good if your on the pill, that way there's even less of a chance.
Remember, they cannot always prevent STIs.

Calm down. If you're this scared maybe you shouldn't do it at all, I mean it really doesn't look like you're emotionally capable of handling the consequences.
Now that I'm done preaching, I'll answer your questions.
Buy a good brand, try the "extra safe" ones if you're worried. Be careful not to rip it while opening it or putting it on him. Yes, it will feel different. They're about 98% effective against pregnancy if used correctly.

That's right. Also if you go on the pill that also decreases the chances of getting pregnant by quite a large margin apparently. Remember you can always take the morning after pill as well. However those wont protect you against STI's.

There are 100's of different types, the extra safe ones have less of a chance of breaking but they dont give quite the same experience as pleasure intense ones which have a slightly larger chance of breaking. Its always a good idea to be doubly sure and go on the pill.

It only takes one google search to find that condoms are 98% effective. No one here is more qualified than the doctors at netdoctor.co.uk
Remember that condoms are the only contraception that have some protection against STDs aswell.
Also, if you're really that woried, then I advise you get durex ultra safe. Those things are INCREDIBLY touch to break. In a condom class once, after we took them of the plastic penises, we had to stretch them for such a long space before they eventually snapped. It was like on of those rubber characters that don't break.

I wrote that thread on safe sex, there is a lot of information about condoms and safe sex in general. Give it a look, hopefully it will answer your questions.
