No, Ted Nugent can only be described as a complete fucking idiot. He is one of the most insipid and disgusting individuals I have ever had the displeasure to listen to, and his political views are barbaric and inhumane. He does not believe in freedom and he cannot call himself an American. This is a man who has supported dropping nuclear weapons on Iraq. Ted Nugent is an Islamophobe piece of shit who should have absolutely no voice. He is a peasant, and I wipe my ass with his antiquated music. Not only that, but he is a hypocrite pussy who "supports" the military, yet refused to join it when he was threatened with the draft (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_nugent#Military).
Now, back on topic, Obama will probably win. I'd like to see a third party candidate rise up in the race, but it's just going to be another red vs. blue year, with an obvious loser (see: Romney).

What kind of attitude is this to have towards politics? Threatening people that you disagree with with acts of violence like Nugent does is just incredibly ignorant and immature. That's not even an argument. "Oh, yeah, Obama sucks and he should die." Neither you nor Nugent can actually come up with reasons why Obama is bad besides absurd and patently untrue complaints about "socialism" and "taking away guns". I'm a libertarian, I don't support Obama and I see flaws in many decisions he has made. That doesn't mean I don't respect him as a human being.

No, because he advocates violence against people he doesn't like. He's everything the Founding Fathers feared would rise up in this nation. When the United States was founded, it was on the basis that people can come together and cooperate to build a better society. That's the reason why George Washington opposed political parties. No "true American" would talk openly about murdering the president because they disagree with him. Ted Nugent is the opposite of an American. He is a brainless fuck who has no sense of morality or ethics.
And, really, no sane person would actually say that our failure in Iraq was "not to Nagasaki them (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_nugent#Politics)." I mean, seriously, that's just insanity. Ted Nugent believes in killing innocent people – families, children – because he doesn't understand their culture. Because he thinks America is superior to every other nation, that Americans are basically the "superior race". This is the person that you support.

The problem I see with Romney is his blatant dishonesty. Not only has he flipped on many of his positions in the time between the end of his tenure as governor of Massachusetts and the current presidential race, he also rehashes the same flawed arguments that every mainstream Republican has given concerning the economy. For example, blaming the recent rises in gas prices on Obama is really stretching the truth, as well as the typical smug references to socialism and all that. I really don't like how close he is to the corporate world, which definitely would have an impact on the decisions he would make as president.

I'd just like to point out that Ted Nugent has never actually called Americans the "superior race," but he does vocally believe that the United States is better than every other nation. When it comes to international issues, Nugent basically supports making the rest of the world the U.S.'s bitch.

No, nobody is nobody's bitch. The entire "America versus China" attitude that's developed over the past few years is just paranoia. The United States still has, by far, the largest economy (over twice the size of China's) and military, and that won't change for a long time. China does not "rule us". They do not make "all our shit". They're not "the enemy". I really don't see why the conservatives in this country keep trying to make enemies out of nations that we could easily cooperate more with.
That's where Ted Nugent comes in. He doesn't believe in peace, he's a warmongering neoconservative.

The current recession isn't that simple. The economy does not "suck" simply because of foreigners. There are a million different variable, and the current slowdown is the culmination of a bunch of things that are mostly unrelated to China and Mexico. Government regulation and irresponsible business practices by American corporations are two examples of things that actually matter.
Mexicans aren't taking a huge number of American jobs. That's just blatant paranoia that borders on racism. While yes, many immigrants have occupied American jobs, the jobs they take are mostly bottom-tier/minimum wage positions that the average American wouldn't take in the first place. The unemployment situation is also the result of many factors, of which illegal immigration isn't really a problem.

ok so how why is it bad then?
Well, let's see:
- The subprime mortgage crisis/credit crisis and a sharp rise in consumer debt, caused by a variety of factors including flawed government regulation, general irresponsibility on the part of home buyers, and risky to downright insane lending policies.
- A rise in energy prices. Regional instability in the Middle East, increased international demand and the fact that the oil market is incredibly speculative are all primary causes of this.
- Lack of consumer confidence. Because of rising food and gas prices, combined with unemployment and plateauing salaries, people are less likely to go out and buy things like electronics and furniture.
- The consolidation of the workplace. New technologies mean that businesses can replace workers with machines. Because of this, less people are being hired.
- International competition. The United States is no longer the lone economic superpower that it was in the aftermath of the Cold War. The rising economic superpowers of China, India, Brazil and Russia are all giving the U.S. a tough time when it comes to international trade. However, in the long run, I think this is a good thing, as it'll make this country more competitive and stronger. There's no reason to treat these countries as "enemies" because they're doing well.
- Government regulation and the deficit. This is best explained here:
In the long run, the resultant debt is very damaging to the economy, and not only because of higher interest rates. The U.S. government may be tempted to let the value of the dollar fall so that the debt repayment will be in cheaper dollars, and less expensive. As this happens, foreign governments and investors will be less willing to buy Treasury bonds, forcing interest rates even higher.
These are a handful of reasons for the current state of the economy. There are many, many more that I probably don't know enough about to put here anyway.

Nothing in there was too complicated. Those are the basics of the current state in the economy; you'll hear most of those terms on the news every night. If you don't understand something, Google it. But please, have some knowledge about a subject before you start debating it.
But we're off topic anyway. This thread is about Obama, Romney and the 2012 election. I've already said what I think about the elections; I'm done with this thread unless others have things to add that are on topic.

President Obama isn't the entire problem. People are blaming him for a crisis that didn't happen under his administration. Because of the financial and credit crises, the economy has slowed to a halt. As Justin stated, this can all be pinned on a million different variables that don't even relate to Obama.
Obama stated during his last campaign that he was not going to be a perfect president. No president is going to be perfect and it was foolish that many Obama supports thought he WAS perfect. It also doesn't help when groups like the Tea Party begin stirring the pot and cause infighting in the civilian population. Individuals like Grover Norquist, Ted Nugent, etc. are examples of such intolerance because they try to portray their political opponents as "enemies" to the American people. This is a way for them to stay in office and spend our tax money.
Ted Nugent, like any other neo-con, appeals to the lowest common denominator of conservatives. Telling the President to suck on a machine gun and calling him a piece of shit could have gotten him on the FBI's watch list. Do you understand how dangerous some individuals are? There are people out there that would be more than willing to kill ANY politician, Obama included. Nugent is a warmongering piece of human filth that needs to die away. I don't care for the man's music, but his political views put such a bad reputation on American politics that I'm ashamed to say I'm a registered voter.
Back to the topic, I'll most likely vote for Barrack. I've never been comfortable with Romney either as a person or a politician. I do commend him for establishing Massachusetts' health care system, which seems to be working very well. As a person, Romney doesn't appear down to earth. Whenever I see a video of him at a campaign event, he looks so out of place. Even when Mitt's on factory floors in jeans and a long sleeve formal shirt, I can't take him seriously. On top of that, comments such as "I'm not concerned about the very poor" (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/02/01/mitt-romney-very-poor_n_1246557.html) and "I like being able to fire people" (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/10/new-hampshire-primary-2012-mitt-romney_n_1196171.html)leave a bad taste in my mouth.
He's a rich man fighting for the rich, plain and simple. If he honestly thinks that the safety nets for the poorest in this country don't need fixing, he's dead wrong. Welfare and food stamps, which are the biggest safety nets for the poor in America, are getting smaller and smaller. He's not worried about the homeless rate going up? What about the percentage of Americans who own a house going down? Romney is a major flip-flopper, which has been documented for the last few years. Anybody else remember when he supported the individual mandate of healthcare in 2009 (http://www.redstate.com/erick/2012/03/03/further-proof-romney-supported-a-national-individual-mandate-in-2009/)? Now, according to comments made during the campaign and on his website, that, on his first day in office, Mitt will "issue an executive order that paves the way for the federal government to issue Obamacare waivers to all fifty states. He will then work with Congress to repeal the full legislation as quickly as possible." (http://www.mittromney.com/issues/health-care)
At this point, I'm more comfortable with the same than to have a man like Mitt "Play-Dough" Romney being our leader.

He promised to veto PIPA, SOPA, and CISPA. He instead, behind our backs, voted for them to be put into legislation; completely demolishing your basic human rights that the USA was founded on.

I find it funny because you always say how much you hate Obama, even though you are so uneducated, and don't pay enough attention to realize you are in favor of lots of the things he also promotes. You hate mexicans? He raised security standards along the border, and has in fact deported a higher number of illegal immigrants than a number of presidents before him.
He also made like, $20 billion dollars in budget cuts in just the white house alone. He has aided war veterans, and their spouses at a higher standard than ever before. He instituted programs to help people find jobs. The jobs for main street act that was passed a few years ago helped public service workers, like police officers and increased funding for people doing military work. Since Obama took office, there has been a lot more jobs created for United States citizens. Around 4 million.
His student aid reform is just phenomenal.
You call the man a liar, and a cheat when he actually issued compensation guidelines for bank executive salary and bonuses. Something I'd bet you would bitch and moan about right? He also pretty much saved what was left of the auto industry.
You're complaining about oil? Obama invests a lot of money to aid research for finding clean, alternative sources of energy. Instead of spending all of our money, to go and ravage someone else's land for some dirty substance that will never come back after we've used it all up, and its use is a primary factor in the deterioration of the global climate. Something Bush, and his administration did not give a single shit about.
Our economy would have declined either way, no matter who was president after Bush. Wars don't pay for themselves you know, and Obama wasn't in office when they started, so I really don't fucking know why you feel the need to blame the entirety of this nation's problems on a man who's time spent in office is such a minuscule amount when it comes to the actual amount of time spent down the drain.

So since you yourself admit all presidents lie for the sake of coming into power what makes you think any other president, let's take Ted Nugent for example, is better than Obama? I mean, if they're all doing it for the same purpose then what's so special about Obama in terms of the promises he did not keep?

I really don't see the point in you even participating in this thread if you can't engage in a level-headed, mature conversation about the President. The inhumane level of hatred you show for this one man is incredibly disturbing. If you can't learn to cooperate with people that you disagree with and accept other poins of view, this is going to go absolutely nowhere. You should try and fix your "natural habit" to resort to threats of violence and negative attitude towards politics.
Seriously, the kind of attitude that you promote is what's preventing this country, that you "love" so much, from going anywhere. Thankfully American society is moving beyond the sickening opinions of people like Ted Nugent. Redneck and gun culture are dying off. One of the many groups of people who treats the national political forum as if it's a place to act like a complete hardass, using absolutely no logic and only making threats towards other people, is going away. In a couple of decades, opinions like yours won't be anywhere near the mainstream anymore, or relevant in any way whatsoever – that is, if they were in the first place.
Obama is a good man, and even if I don't agree with a majority of his decisions, I can still describe WHY I don't and do it without talking about machine guns and using profanity. The man presents no real threat to your back-country lifestyle. You're not going to get anything you want out of the political system if you keep filling it with this absolutely idiotic "liberals are a threat!" mindstate.

Again you've shown little to nil knowledge about the 'war on terror', you don't realise that your troops are there in Afghanistan fighting a war they cannot win and a war that was not meant to accomplish anything. For nearly a decade they've just been killing civilians and getting their asses handed to them by tribal militias and at this point in time they don't even know what they're fighting any more. War is a terrible thing dude, it's one of the most inhumane things anyone can indulge in. I have more respect for psychopaths like Dahmer, Kemper and Gein than I have for a single soldier. Blindly getting yourself into an entity that's built to fight and inevitably kill innocent people is literally the worst thing you can do. By being in favour of it you're defending the notion that war is an honourable thing. It's not. It sucks for both countries who engage in it, and most of all it sucks for the people who aren't a part of the war in the first place because in the end they are the ones who suffer the most.

ok so how why is it bad then?
Our economy would not get better from making stuff here. The reason is that it would cost at least minimum wage to hire employees here rather then 5 cents in china. The increase in labor would cause prices to go up and therefore a decrease in demand and less money in the economy. Yes it would bring jobs here but it would shrink the economy and because of that the jobs brought here would be lost in a couple of years. Listen to people like you complain about high gas prices everything would be like that if we made it all here. The economy is bad because there are millionaires and billionaires exploiting working middle class people for higher profitably betting money they don't have in the stock market and Obama is making great strides to make it so they can't do this. Ted Nudgent supports the republican party because they want to make him pay a 10% tax rate when he makes millions and you and your family pay a 25-30% tax rate when you make a couple hundred thousand at the most. You has fallen for this issues that the republicans have made up to get elected. Like abortion, nothing can be done about it because the supreme court ruled on it. The health care law. You conservative people pretend to love Jesus and his practices and your absolutely right. He sacrifices his life for our sins and you can't sacrifice $100 per year for the well being of tens of millions of americans who need health insurance. America is not the best country on earth because we have more violence from guns, poor education systems, and the worst health care system that is the mot expensive in the world all thanks to the God loving republican party. You dont think God wants every child to have a good education no matter what their parents income is? You honestly believe God wants everyone to carry pistols, you honestly think God wants hundreds of people to die everyday from lack of healthcare. You are ignorant and have no idea what you are talking about. You want to decrease things like welfare and boost the economy you can start by getting Republicans to actually invest in education so in 10 years every American has a college degree and has a decent paying job. o and I'm in college right now studying political science and you should learn about the deficits and size of federal government before complaining about it. Every economist knows that when the government spends and goes into a deficit the economy grows. In relation to deficits the republican party accuses democrats of following Europe into a debt crises when really Europe is multiple sovereign nations arguing and using austerity, austerity is a sudden halt in spending which causes economic decline, o wait that is what the Republicans want to do not the democrats??? In terms of our deficit W. Bush increased the deficit 118% and reagon increased it 250% the democrats Clinton and Obama only increased it 68% combined. In terms of the size of federal government e number of federal employees had a significant decrease under Obama whereas the number of federal employees in theBush administration were higher. Republicans like Ted use this type of fear like he's taking our guns away when in reality he hasn't even mentioned gun control. I conclusion: HOPE over FEAR Obama 2012!!!!

Can a machine gun rip apart a human being like a piece of paper is less than a second? Can a machine gun send body parts flying at the same speed as a car? You can probably kill just as many people with a machine gun as you can with a bomb, sure; but can you do it in the same amount of time?

Eh, I'd say it's pretty dang close.
Sugaree

Eh, I'd say it's pretty dang close.
Ok, let's be mathematical here for a bit.
Say you have a bomb. You plan it accordingly and successfully (and I use that word in the strictest sense of being an example) kill 30 people instantly. It took less than one second for that bomb to let off enough energy to kill 30 people (not including various injuries to those just far away enough from the radius of the blast/shrapnel).
But what if you don't have the materials/money/time to make a bomb? Obviously the quickest way is to take a gun and go shoot. The nearest gun to you is a machine gun, so you take that and go on your merry little way to take some souls. Now, you kill the same amount of people as you would have killed with a bomb (once again, not including injuries). However, in that time period, you would have run out of ammo, had to reload, and take time to aim accordingly to kill that many people (I don't know how good of an aim you are or how quick, so this is assuming you're just rampaging without any prior training). This takes, at most, maybe close to 45 minutes, and that might not be including a possible stand off with the SWAT team trying to knock down your barriers.
Now, in terms of effectiveness in both these situations, there's no major comparisons between the bomb and the machine gun. The largest gap between the two is the difference in time it takes to kill the same amount of people. Of course, you can make a bomb with a timer, but let's just assume you were using a simple push button start. In just under a second, you can unleash an incredible amount of power that kills 30 people around you instantly. Now, with a machine gun, you can kill 30 people, but it will take you significantly MORE time when considering aim, accuracy, agility and reload time. There's plenty of more factors you can put in (location, conditions, what have you), but the point here remains the same: a bomb can be more effective than a machine gun if you want to be quick.

I'd argue you can do way more damage with a machine gun.
OK i hate this debate but i can not pass this up. A Machine gun, depending on which one it is, can do a lot of damage. Lets take the Browning M2 for example, Im only useing this because i owned its brother at one time The M3. The M2 Is a .50 caliber BMG Machine fireing between 450-600 Rounds Per Minute. Now thats a high rate of fire for a .50 BMG. The .50 BMG is about 5 inches long and will blow a human too hell aand back. But it will not kill like a bomb would. It can kill massive amounts of people it can rip body parts off it can almost anything a bomb can do but i will not vaporize people,Make them fly, or destroy a building. And to be able to own a machine gun you need a Class 3 FFL(Federal Firearms License) and to get that you need to fill out a form have back ground checks from the FBI and have to pay a shit ton of money a month. And the ammo, To buy the ammo you would have to pay 1000s of 1000s of dollars in ammo. a box of 20 .50 BMGs cost between 120 and 200 dollar depending on where your getting them, and you cant buy them in belts you have to belt them your self which sucks and kills you hands, but buying links to belt the ammo is very expensive.
Wow. I love how the same can't be said for guns right? Oh America, you and your silly gun obsession.
Why do i have to say this all the time? Guns dont kill people, people kill people guns are just a tool. I have all the guns i have because i have fun with them and i hunt alot. You do not know how much joy i get out of my guns, I go camping alot and i usall bring along atleast 2 ARs, 2 Bolts, 4 Hand guns, 1 Machine gun(My 1919 oh i love that thing, but sadly its going to go soon), and a few others. I hunt with them my freezer is packed with white tailed deer because of my guns. If i didnt have my guns i wouldnt be able too eat. All my meat goes from the woods to the butcher to my house and into my stomach. And america doesnt have a gun obession I know atleast 10 people off the top of my head that guns and want them banned. If you actually lived in america (which im pretty sure you dont) youd know what its like. You cant make a judgement like that unless you actually know what its like. I live in america and sure theres a lot of trigger happy people here(Me included) But theres also alot of people that dont like them and want them banned. California wont even let you own a gun unless you can actually see the bullet in the chamber. And Detroit and Washington D.C. were gun free zones but thoses got lifted because protested against it saying it was against the constitution which it is and that we should have the right to conceal and carry where ever we want.

Why do i have to say this all the time? Guns dont kill people, people kill people guns are just a tool.
Worst argument ever. I don't even need to refute this because I've already done so countless times in other gun-related threads.
Your concept of fun > society's welfare. There are plenty of other ways to have fun other than wielding a particularly dangerous weapon. You make it sound like weapons are all there is too life and clearly that just shows you haven't been exposed to much other than guns.
If i didnt have my guns i wouldnt be able too eat. All my meat goes from the woods to the butcher to my house and into my stomach.
Then it's the state's job to make sure people don't live in congruence with antiquated tribal ideals. They should provide cheap food, not leave it up to the general public to hold weapons and hunt themselves. That's absurd.
Then I take back my statement and hold the hope that maybe America can break through the chains of its pro-gun past. Thanks for the updates.

Wow. I love how the same can't be said for guns right? Oh America, you and your silly gun obsession.
I have to agree with Professional Russian here. As cliche as it sounds, people kill people. It's not just guns that are tools for killing; it can be knives, box cutters, even plastic bags. It's the effectiveness of the weapon you're using that can determine the life or death of a person. That's why there are regulations in place for guns and their owners in order to keep them under control. It's not like I can go and pick up an M-16 on sale for twenty dollars at Wal-Mart.

The difference is knives, box cutters and plastic bags are required by the general public. Guns are not.
This is pretty similar to the keep-cigarettes argument; 'car smoke kills people too, let's ban cars'. Well, no. Cars are a necessary means of transport today, cigarettes aren't necessary for anything (other than stress-relieving, but there are more health-effective ways of relieving stress in the short and long-term). That argument is flawed and invalid.

I dont hunt because foods expesive(It actually isnt) I hunt because i want to know that there isnt a bunch of shit in my food. And deer are readily available their everywhere. There are alot of people that hunt because they prefer too have food that isnt fake or have a bunch of shit in it. And if Venison is make correctly it tastes fucking amazing.

Heres a better reason, Do how many people have goten sick and died from food that was not properly prepared t mcdonalds or anywhere else? Do you know what companys put in there meat to make it juicyer? There was a thing called pink slime, there was like 5 factorys produceing it and selling it too companys to put in their meat to make it jucier. The public found out about this and quickly put a stop too it. Last month all but one factory produceing Pink Slime were shut down do to public complaints. Heres a good one about missprepared food. there was a place called Ci-Cis if im correct that fucked up bad and distrubited tainted food to their branches. Im not sure how many people got sic and how many died but they fucked up so badly that they were also shut down. Now when im hunting and i kill a deer I Know for a fact that there is nothing in it that could harm me. As it gets processed att he butcher I Know For a fact that theres nothing like pink slime because ive seen the whole process in action. So tel me that an invalid argument

And natural game is 100% clean, too, right? There's no such thing as parasites.
Just because there's no "pink slime" in it doesn't mean its just automatically safe. Also, isn't what you're talking about pertaining to fast food restaurants? I've never heard of buying fresh meat that has that shit. Only places like McDonalds.

Honestly, Obama has caused harm since he's been in office. Also, how much longer can he blame, and put off things on George Bush and the Republicans? I personally do not like Romney, but we need SOMEONE different to get America out of this recession, and he's the only other option.

I'm sure there are other options left to consider that we have yet to find. I do agree though that the Obama administration treats Bush like a punching bag. Yes, the Bush years brought on the recession and he left with an economy ready to explode to his predecessor; but really, you can only blame him for so much at one time.

Don't forget the expensive wars we're fighting. What did we accomplish out in the Middle East under Bush? Under Obama, Bin-Laden has been killed. The rights of homosexuals have been defined. Didn't Obama also come in just as Bush was leaving the oil spill? Or did Obama just take care of that himself? Honestly, both Bushes were dumb presidents. Obama is also being underrated.

Well considering we only have obama and romney. Romney supports Gun rights(which we know i like) I wont make illegals leagal. he'll actually try to make the economy better. he'll fund the military and over romneys better than obama. obama fucked the economy even more. obama cut funding to the military. obama wanted to take away mt guns. obama wanted to take away my freedom of speech. obamas trying to make illegals legal. i didnt hear about obama doing anything to help stop the war on drugs. I didnt hear about obama going to a war zone to talk to our troops(which bush did). Basically in my opinion obama suck. But if we could a person out of anybody to president It wouldnt be bush, it wouldnt be ted nugent, it wouldnt be clint eastwood. 1. Obama spent billions more on the war effort, how do you think that helps the economy?
2. Bin Laden was killed. I know, such a major accomplishment, but he was already on his death bed. Whoopdee freakin do.
3. Rights of homosexuals have not been defined, they can only marry in a few states!
4. Oil spill? Do you mean the BP one? Obama didn't do anything, neither did Bush! All damages where paid out of pocket by BP.
