Stopping bumped threads

Would deleting/locking threads after 2 or 3 months stop people from bumping them, or is that just me giving a really stupid suggestion on how to help stop bumping threads.

Well the thing is our admins and mods work hard to keep the forums clean and safe.
With implementing this you have doubled there work load and it's unnecessary because for the most part people check the post before they are bumped.

Also the ORIGINAL POSTER can bump his own thread so if they auto locked it then the mods would have to unlock it. Overall it's much esaier just for the members to check when the last post was, that's my advice on this issue.

It would just be easier if members read the rules completely and followed them to the point. But that's not going to happen, so we will just continue locking those that are bumped. Since it's okay for the original poster to bump his or her own thread, we don't want to cause the trouble of them needing more help and being unable to get it without having to hunt one of us Moderators down.

If you find a bumped thread, report it, thus making our lives easier as well!

yes. you report it if a thread is bumped, made by someone who did not create the thread

Yes.

Why? because it avoids people further bumping the thread.

For example if I made a thread last year and someone bumps it, chances are I am done with the thread and no longer need it. So why should it remain open?

So yes to stop other posters posting in bumped threads, that's why you should report it.

Remember only report it, if it was not bumped by the original poster.
