Do you believe marijuana will ever be legalized in the United States, if so how soon? Why?
Also, Do you believe marijuana should be legalized in the United States? Why?

No. It will not. The United States will protect the petroleum industry to the end.

Not only could they benefit from the billions of tax dollars they would make if they legalised it and sold it as a controlled substance, but the use of hemp (the male strain of the plant, does not contain THC [the stuff that gets you high]) would take over in many ways, including pulp and paper, and working all the way to bio-fuels

This section is for advice on drug abuse, medications or addictions. Debating about whether or not a drug should be legalized is hard on people struggling already with drugs and can only lead to promoting substance abuse, something we don't support on VT.

There are plenty of threads like this in ROTW. Go there if you'd like to debate this.
