Like, after every 5 posts you make, you earn 10 credits. Credits can be used to buy titles, which can be displayed under your username, example the title is awesome, then the background pic is a stickman with glasses looking smug, then creds can also be used to buy reputation, which unlocks more stuff for you :D

Not really needed in my opinion.Cause once u get 2.5k or so posts, if i remember good, you can edit your title yourself.

Yup, custom user title at 2,500 posts, which I think is great the way it is; no changes there.
Buying reputation is stupid I feel. Rep shouldn't just be able to be given away that easily; you gotta earn it.
There's not really 'stuff' that you could buy from VT, and I feel like this would just lead to lots and lots and lots of spamming from people.
Cute idea, I guess, but I gotta say no.

Yeah, I have to agree with Val. This would result in tons of spamming, and I really don't need any competition :S I might lose my title as Queen of Spam!
But yeah, in all seriousness it would definitely result in spam, and rep should be earned not bought.

rather than saying why not, I'll just ask you - why?

I agree that it really really is not needed because most added stuff is unlocked via post count. Bying rep would be so pointless and it would over advertise rep.
It is an okay idea in theory but it's not the kinda thing we "need" so to speak.

I think that turning VT more into a video game-like experience would detract from its original (and persisting) purpose, which is that of help, advice, and support. I don't see how this particular suggestion would be productive towards more effectively achieving that objective.

Would be hard to implement it, plus do you got a good reason for this? It defeats the original purpose of the site.
