Nah on scared. I suggest going every day and find something you like to do that actual exercise like hoops, tennis

I need to lose some weight so I signed up with a couple of my friends. But they almost never go, so I end up going alone. It's not that terrible as long as you are just listening to music and ignore everyone else.

Or... meet some peeps there that have similar interest and you'll have new people to workout or play with

only reason to not go alone is if ur powerlifting and need a spotter, otherwise its fine. ive rocked a gym alone at 11pm a few times in my day haha

I fucking hate working out by myself, but actually look forward to training. see if you can get a personal trainer, they keep you on task, give you encouragement and conversation, and that way you're never at a loss for what to do.
Assuming that's not an option, try to plan something vague out beforehand, so that you don't end up standing around like, "now what?"

if you can't get a personal trainer or someone to go with you I'd stick to the nautilus machines as they have safeguards and you don't need a spotter. if you go every day alternate what you work on...one day upper body next day lower body...you'd be suprised how fast the weight will come off. you definately do not want to do free weights alone. I love going to the gym alone :)

there is nothing wrong to work out alone at the gym, it's kinda nice actually you can concentrate on your own training.

it's great that you have decided to start exercising. But one important thing you can do, is to check what you can change in your daily life when it comes to food.
i would also recomend that you studdy a bit about how your body works when it comes to food and energy. you don't need to become an expert but a litle knowledge will help a long way.

if there is anything you want to ask feel free to talk to me

Ya depends what you're doing but just go alone if it comes down to it. Nothing wrong with that. Id get cardio going first if you're tryin ti lose weight drink choco milk after every workout and get protein tho. Get a plan going but get a trainer or someone to show you different things you can do

As others have said, I would recommend listening to some music, to keep you motivated.
