Do these hurt? I'm competing in an airsoft war this weekend and was a bit skeptical.

I guess it just depends on what type of airsoft bullets you're using (metal ones would probably leave a pretty big welt xD) and the airsoft gun FPS (feet-per-second; how fast the bullet travels when shot). Pain tolerence, I suppose, could be a factor too, but I really wouldn't be too worried about it. (: I once got shot in the hand by my brother accidentally standing at close range, he thought that there were no bullets in the gun. It left a little red mark; it just slightly stung (from the close range) and shocked me a bit. I don't participate in airsoft wars because I don't like being shot at. xD I would suggest wearing safety glasses/sunglasses if you have any just to help protect your eyes and eyesight. (:

I'm talking plastic BBs shot out of a regular assault rifle (Don't know the fps for those in general)

Your not shooting it out of a regular assualt rifle because 1(it would be too loud and 2(it would go into you like a bullet but with less damage. And the FPS on a regul;ar assualt rifle is based on caliber and number of grains of powder. but that isnt relevant

If you've got protective glasses on and you're dressed properly, it just stings for a moment then wears off. To me it's like being flicked really hard by someone but doesn't last very long. If you wear pants and long sleeves, you should be fine. Hurts more from close range but just try to avoid getting that close. :P
Make SURE you're wearing protective eye gear. These can blind you if you get hit in the eye. That's the one thing I tell everyone who plays airsoft. Make sure you have something, even if it's just sunglasses, but I'd invest in just buying something like carpenter's goggles so your eyes are fully covered.
Have fun. :)

I'm talking airsoft, not real guns.
Bought a paintball mask. HOLY HELL mine fogged up. I didn't really solve my problem, since all three rounds involved me getting shot in the crotch. Hurt like hell, but I wanna feel it on skin.
A friend of mine was messing around with his shotgun (250fps) and hit my leg from ten feet away. Didn't hurt that much though.
All in all, it was fun. Gave me a rush. Oh and thanks everyone!

Well you said regular assualt rifle so i assumed you were going to reload bullets with BBs and shoot them(Its not possible though)

What does the thread title say?
It doesn't matter though, now that I've solved my problem.
