Does anyone else feel pretty and better about themselves when they are hungry (when you don't eat)? Am I crazy for thinking that??

You now what I think that if You are really skinny you aren't attractive so ladies stop starving your selves it's unhealthy and unattractive

I feel like that sometimes, but it used to be a lot worse. The feeling of hunger would strengthen me, not weaken me. It would empower me and make me feel confident about myself when I fasted.

I don't feel pretty, but I feel better about myself, and I feel like I look better to MYSELF. I don't care what anyone else thinks, really. I just want to look nice to myself, so that's why I like to be hungry all the time.

You don't really understand, do you? It's not that we want dudes to think we are hot, it's more that we want ourselves to feel good about our bodies.

Yes but wouldn't you rather have healthy body's then skinny weak ones oh and when you don't eat enough your body will eat away the fat but it will also eat away muscle

No
No towards me or both of us
No it was for you.
However, for everyone, restrain from arguing, we won't have any of that here.
Now, back on topic.

If you're going to argue it, don't do it in here. Yes I read them, and I read your remarks. This conversation is over.

Richard, I agree with you about being thin and frail but like Jessica said you don't understand. Most of the time bulimic and anorexic people don't do it for others but to please themselves. I am neither bulimic or anorexic but I don't eat that much anymore because I feel so... big. When I don't eat I look at myself more positively and when I do eat I look at myself and see a fatty. It's just... you can't really relate.

Glad you understand, it's just not a fair fight. You can't argue or judge unless you have been through the something. You should never judge but don't infer either.

But just so people don't get the wrong idea would you reccomend not eating
xXoblivionXx
May 2nd, 2012, 09:49 PM
No. I have a low self esteem and I'm trying to raise it. What I am doing right now is not a good thing to do. It is something I do and may other people do but it is not a good thing and I DO NOT recommend it. I'm just saying not to judge people that do this because deep down they know it is not the right thing to do but it makes them feel better about themselves so they do.

I definitely feel prettier when I'm either hungry or working out. I skipped breakfast this morning and god did it feel amazing.
I'm mia, not ana, so I also get genuinely nauseous when I eat. And nobody feels pretty when they're nauseous.

i dont think anyone would recommend not eating, nor would i think any less of people that dont eat.
im not speaking for everyone, this is just my opinion, but simply "not eating" is not the whole picture there is a hell of a lot more to people who have eating disorders. wanting to be thin is only a small part of it.
dont make ignorant comments.

I can absolutely relate to this. It's not necessarily that I feel prettier, but I certainly do feel better about myself when I've gone for a day or two (or longer)> without (or with very little) eating. It also helps prove to myself that I still have control over myself and my body.

I feel that way as well. No, you're not crazy, but it's not a healthy mentality.

Girls, be proud of what you are, not all guys look for a girl that has the smallest stomach, the biggest tits, and biggest tits, I personally like my girls to have a little something on their bellies, and a fair amount of tits and ass. Eat, it'll bring your fate.

I feel like that a lot, actually. I don't have any eating disorder, but when I'm hungry I feel more self-confident for some reason. Whenever I'm full, I feel somehow guilty and unaccepted. It's weird.... But I think a lot of girls feel this way. You're not crazy.

Firstly, some of us aren't into guys (lesbians ftw)
Secondly, it isn't always about that. It has more to do with self-image than how others perceive us. This was detailed numerous times on the first page of this thread.

As I have said before (look below). And as Kenoloor has stated, we are not all attracted to guys, myself included.

It is all in your head; you look no different. You are already beautiful the way you are, you just only notice how beautiful you are when you don't eat because of your mindset.
I don't know any of you personally, but it truly makes me sad that you can only see how beautiful you are without food. I truly hope you can find an alternative like exercise, anything but starving.

The hard part is trying to change that mindset....

The hard part is trying to change that mindset.... Well of course, no one said it would be easy. It takes time, understanding, and a lot of good friends to be there for you.
You will always be beautiful regardless of whether or not you eat, but not eating will make those who love you sad. I used to have a girlfriend with anorexia; worst thing in the world to know that I couldn't do anything to help her. :(

I can certainly relate to this, the hunger does feel bad of course but I feel more self-confident and like I have more willpower when I don't eat.

I really don't know why specifically, but something about the emptiness... makes me feel that way. Exercise makes me feel the same way as well. Like, instantly I feel like I'm prettier and thinner. But I feel like I'm one hundred pounds heavier otherwise. I guess half of it makes sense because when you're stomach is full, well, you feel just bloated and horrible. But I feel like it's almost an entire mindset that goes with it. I feel like I'm in two very different states when I'm eating my meal plan and when I'm eating (or not eating) based on how I want to.
You now what I think that if You are really skinny you aren't attractive so ladies stop starving your selves it's unhealthy and unattractive
I know you mean well and I know it's something I say a lot as well, but fact of the matter is though the vast majority of people find healthy weight attractive, fetishes exist of both people who are obese and people who are underweight. Just saying. I'm not justifying anything, just pointing out a flaw in that.
But I couldn't care less if anyone finds me attractive. Well, I'd like to know my girlfriend does. But otherwise, nope. I find just the pressure of society towards women more of a trigger than either sex finding me desirable.

It's not that I feel prettier, not even hunger could do that lol. I do feel better about myself though. When I eat I feel sick and stupid, when i'm hungry it just lets me know I have willpower and i'm the same person that I was. I'm not too sure of my reasons really, all I know is that i'm better when I starve.
My parents force me to though, they've resorted to bribing me with junk which makes me feel even @#!*% worse. gahh

I understand the feeling completely. You almost feel accomplished when you feel hungry, that you're finally normal almost. However, after months of living like that and dropping 20 or so pounds, I have learned that that does major harm to your body. Your body NEEDS the nutrients in food, even though your mind has convinced you otherwise. You have to put your thoughts behind you and do what you know is beneficial to your body. Every time you decide to skip a meal when you're hungry, or even when you aren't, you choose to do damage to your body and eventually your health. I have been doing a lot of blood tests and been put on medication because of the loss of nutrients. Take it from someone who's been there and understands, it's not worth it

I am currently struggling with EDNOS. A bad bout of it that started two years ago. Yes, I completely understand the feeling you are addressing, although it can lead down a very bad spiral of eating disorders, if you don't already have one. More than anything I feel surprisingly strong when I starve, yet pysically weak. It's all very warped and self-sabotaging. Please, if you believe you have the makings of an eating disorder and aren't already seeking proper help do so before you cause havoc to your beautiful body. You girls [and guys] are all beautiful and don't ever think otherwise.

I feel like that occasionally but I know it's definitely not a good sign sweetie. It's not healthy to think that way at all you should feel beautiful no matter what you eat <3 sending hugs your way.
