When I was little, I had got a Heart condition called Tachycardia, which made your heart beat really fast and wont stop. In order to stop and fix that condition, they had to do a Heart Cath on me in Egelston Children's Hospital in Atlanta. When I was there, I seen things and heard things that really makes me Thankful for what I got. I just wondered if anyone here has had this done on them. If you have, tell your stories if you would like.

I have not had one but my mom had one once at Hamilton General Hospital, the Cath Lab rooms i have to say look pretty hIgh tech and cool.
There was a chance i was supposed to have one once to implant a ICD or Pacemaker, but a Echocardiogram and stuff confirmed i did not need one.

I just had a Cardiac Cath last week. They did the cath to get a better look at my heart, because i was born with heart problems called Aortic Stenosis, Aortic Regurgitation, Bicuspid aortic valve and an Enlarged aorta. They wanted to see if my valve was narrow enough for surgery because i have a lot of symptoms. I just got the call today, i am going to be having heart surgery to replace my valve this summer but first i need a PET scan before and after exercise to look at my coronary arteries to see if those need to be fixed also.
My cath was pretty good. I was in the pre-op room and they gave me an IV. I dont remember anything after they rolled me out of the pre-op room. Then i remember waking up having to go to the bathroom really bad and being hungry haha

Aww, I hope the surgery goes Good...Later on when I woke up from the anesthesia, I was really hungry too. I was hungry when I woke up, but I didnt want to eat anything because my throat was sore from that tube shubbed down my throat...Also, speaking of heart surgery and Aorta. My Pawpaw had his second open heart surgery to replace his Aorta Valve. That was done about 4 years ago.

I didn't have to have a tube shoved down my throat thankfully! They had me out, but not out enough to intubate. If they had gone ahead and ballooned open my valve they would have put me completely out and intubated me but they did not end up doing that. I remember telling them to bring me all the food they had :) i just kept eating. But that sucked because i had to go to the bathroom soooooooo bad.
How long did you have to lay still for after?
Ahh ok, the aortic valve is what i am having replaced also :)
