Actually, May 1 is Labor Day in Singapore... guess I know where the influence comes from over here O.o

You are correct, it is on November 11, better know as Armistice Day, marking the end of WWI in 1919. It was later changed to Veterans Day after WWII.
Just a brief history lesson for you guys. :P

No. Armistice/Veterans Day is not the same as Labor Day, which is essentially what they're talking about. :P America celebrates Labor Day the first Monday in September.

Woker's rights day, May 1st, was a holiday started by Americans. However, because of its radical and violent past (Haymarket bombing, anarchist demonstrations, communist demonstrations, etc) America moved its woker's rights holiday to September to distance our own country from a tradition we started.

Oh, no wonder it didn't make a lot of sense. I thought by workers they meant soldiers. Wow, don't I feel Stupid. :P
