So I've been cutting on and off since the week of September 13th, 2011.
Trying so very hard to stop. Advice?

First off I am very happy you are taking the initiative to stop...*applauds*

Find something you enjoy doing and do it...painting, writing, reading, running, swimming, dancing...anything you can think of to replace that feeling and go for it.

If you have any questions feel free to get ahold of me, I am always on...

It really is great that you want to quit before things get way out of hand.
First off throw away anything you use to self harm, without the temptation there you should find it harder to cut when you want to.
Next try to keep yourself as busy and distracted as you can. Music, excersize, homework, tidying the house, reading, writing down what you're feeling. Whatever it takes just try anything you can when you get the urge and after a while you should feel it submerge. It takes a lot of patients and strengths but if you keep perservering then each day will be an achievement of its own.
Have you tried things like the butterfly project? Whenever you get an urge draw a butterfly on the place that you want to cut and name it after someone you care about or that means a lot to you. When you want to cut think of that person and how you want to stop for them.

You could mark off each day you are free from self harm, make a braclet and add a bead to it every day you have not cut, draw on yourself or an snap an elastic band can also be alternatives. Also if you have a friend or someone to talk to about what you're feeling then that can also be very helpful, some way of getting your emotions out without causing yourself physical pain is good.

You have to keep in mind that it's okay to relapse though, don't feel as though you've failed if you make one tiny mistake. Just pick yourself back up and tell yourself that you can do this because you can.

Anytime you feel like it, do something like the people above said. Write or draw or go run or something that's NOT self-harmful.

Oh, and text me. 'Cause I will slapahoe (not really) if I find out you're hurting yourself again. You are BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING and LOVELY and all sorts of other GREAT adjectives that I could type but you get the point. I LOVE YOU. <3
