Hey everyone! I'm wanting just a few tips or suggestions on what I can do to help me lose some weight. I have quite a few pounds to get rid of, but I also know that I can't lose it all at once. I have been doing some diet and exercise, but not enough to help me out too much.

In the diet part- I've cut out all soda intake, I've been drinking water, flavoured water, and tea. I've cut out most of my sugary and fatty food intake, eating better all around and not eating during the day, only at mealtimes.
Exercise wise- I go to the park about four times a week and walk about two miles. So that's what, 8 miles a week? Which, to me, doesn't sound like it's super-effective.

So, my question to you is: What else should I start doing to help me continue to lose weight? Any exercises, routines, foods, in particular?
Also, if you could maybe suggest exercises to help get rid of some belly fat, that would be pretty awesome.

Thanks in advance!

Maybe try running instead of walking at the park to get your heart-rate up? Also, Perhaps you should eat like 7 small meals a day to increase your metabolism. Eating 3 larger meals will only slow it down, making it very easy to gain weight.

Hope this helps.

Maybe you can mix in some jogging with your daily walks. Taking off your shoes helps too, since you're working your calf muscles and muscles in your feet that you probably never thought you even had. If you're interested in being able to run a 5K and beyond, check out the Couch 2 5K training program http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml. Running barefoot is very enjoyable for me and it would be for you once you have the appropriate strength in your calves. Trust me, you'll have defined muscles in your calves and feet. Here is Dr. Mark Cucuzzella's video about barefoot running/natural running: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSIDRHUWlVo&feature=player_embedded

ok heres what u need, i cut from about 270 down to 190 with a nice set of abs b4 school xD

make sure u eat breakfast lunch and supper. then inbetween breakfast and lunch eat, and inbetween lunch and supper eat. pretty much u gotta do the small meals all the time. stay away from carbs for the most part, u do need them dont get me wrong, but ur whole meal should not consist of pure carbohydrates.

im starting my new routine today, im going for mass because i lost a bit having to go to school. the more muscle u have the more calories ur body burns while at rest. so in other words more muscle=leaner faster. i suggest doing a full body resistance regime so u work ur whole body. keep up with ur walking, but dont do a distance do a time. speed walk for 30 mins everyday no matter what, even on days u decide to lift weights.

i suggest check out bodybuilding.com for what kind of exercise imparticular u want, since the stuff im doing might not interest you.

belly fat can pretty much only be gotten rid of by eating right and doing cardio, no magic moves to help u there, main reason why powerlifters who have some of the strongest abs ever look fat, sure they do moves to make them stronger, but they dont eat to the point to lose all the fat there.

honestly i like what ur doing, keep off sugar, drink a gallon of water a day(try to only drink water or green tea), keep dairy to just what u need(skim etc, i personaly dont intake dairy on my diets but everyones different), find a good workout on bodybuilding.com or u can ask me for something imparticular and help u make it, and switch ur walks to speed walks for 30 mins everday

oh and i almost forgot about food, try to stay to like egg whites and lean meats if u can. then carbs should be brown rice, whole wheat pasta, quinoa, cous cous and broccoli. eat as much veggies as u want

Try doing some crunches as well as sit ups. There's also an exercise regimen called P90-X that is an ass kicker, but the guy whos on there motivates as well as builds up without talking to ya like a drill sergeant.

Start off with the easy stuff. Never go into the heaviest weights/workload etc straight away. You will cause yourself injury. I suggest balance your workload out. Don't overdo it. I'd get a general check up from the doctors first in regards to your Blood Pressure etc. If you have a high BP you may be limited to certain exercises, such as less cardiovascular activities (running etc) Also if you focus on one thing for too long you may mess up your posture and muscles that you don't use. What you are doing now is fine. It takes time to get to where you are. Just focus on your goal and do not over train. I'd suggest one day focus on your Resistance training (weights etc) then another with cardio and so on so forth. You might even try Plyometric training (explosive etc). But i'd stick with weights and cardio for now. As I said before start off easy and slowly work your way into it. A lot of these exercise things you see on TV rarely work and these super things that get you fit in a few days. It would take anyone a while to get fit. And I would NOT suggest taking supplements but thats just my personal preference. Try to get into a gym or something. Try not to cut too much of your sugar etc out. You need it for the energy. Keep it up and never lose sight of the goal. Exercise is more of a mental thing rather than a physical. You have got to be able to be focused and set to achieve what you want. Keep up the work
