Ok so I recently received an infraction for having bold words and stuff like "pm me" in my signature. I just wanted to know what the problem is with that.

P. S just asking

Perhaps it was because you were publicly asking for people to contact you.

It's kinda hard to give you a better answer as I don't really know why. Maybe it seemed harassing I am not sure. Mods/Admins usually try to discourage people from putting such stuff as "PM me" or "Add me on skype" because it can seem like one would have non pure intentions. So naturally to protect others they will ask that you remove the content from your sig.

Overall to get an accurate answer I suggest you pm the mod who gave you the infraction and ask exactly why you got it. As it is better than this community just speculating.

^ He's pretty much got it spot on. If you read our rules thoroughly you'll see that its discouraged and why. Generally if someone wants to contact you they'll do it off of their own accord.

I think it's when you are a really really new member, that they discourage the "Love to talk pm me anytime. I talk about everything".

I think if you became an older member and went "PM me any time if you need help" or something similar then I think it would be okay. (not sure on the one)

Considering your signature said
PM me. Im on skype, Facebook, Oovoo hmu if your looking for a good time
I don't think much more really needs to be said about this.

You didn't say "PM me guys!" you blatantly asked for offsite contact information, in a very sketchy manner.

It has nothing to do with seniority, that wouldn't be fair, it has to do with what you posted.

How do you get a sig?

Go to User control panel at the top of the page.
Then go to the option at the side that says edit signature.
