Ok, so my mom wants me to get Ubuntu off my laptop and switch to either OSX leopard or WIndows 7 I decided to try OS X with the patch for DOS and I'm going to use a ISO to test and see if it works (Of course after backing up my custom Ubuntu build) And I was wondering if anyone can give me some links (If possible) to some torrents or downloads that I can use to get an ISO with so I can test and see if the patch works and if possible please include a link to the patch. If it works I will tell my mom and go buy the OS then patch and install it, I don't want to pay for something I'm not sure will work.

Out of curiosity, why does your mom even want you to remove Ubuntu from your computer?

Anyways, Apple has made it very difficult to run MacOS on non-Apple computers, so the chances of it working at all are close to none. You can try "Hackintosh", but I haven't used or heard of anyone who has used it before, so I'm afraid I can't tell you too much there.
Good luck, though. You may be stuck with Windoze 7.

Agree with above.. why would your mom care? Mine doesn't have a clue what ubuntu is.

It's not so much that Apple makes it hard to run its OS on computers other than Macs, they are built and developed to support its hardware, so for starters, if you have similar components as those on Mac, you're generally good to go.

The Hackintosh world is quite large out there - definitely have a look into it. I'm not so much a genius in that myself since I have a real Mac but I do have some knowledge if you're really interested.

We can't really post torrents or links to the OS since it's rightfully illegal but if you search deep enough through the internet... :)

In order to get Hackintosh You need to buy Mac OSX and burn the patch onto a CD aswell as have a Flashdrive to back all of your stuff onto. I just need a good ISO torrent for an un-modified version of the OS then I need to get the patch which is called Iboot.

the reason my mom is making me get rid of Ubuntu us because she says "It can ruin your laptop" But she also just dosn't like the way it works.

Ruin your laptop...lmfao.

Anyway, look up on piratebay (google), and you will probably find what are you looking for.

I stick to Win XP tyvm, Win 7 doesn't look any better to me, and just eats a whole lot more of ram, and i'm not that good with Linux.

Can't you just dual-boot? Or even triple boot it? If she says it can ruin your computer (which it can if YOU fuck up) then she probably isn't very good with computers and wont notice a difference. I'm currently running Ubuntu, Win7 and OSX on my laptop (I honestly never use OSX though). I'm on a netbook.

Whe actually knows alot but she seems to be saying things trying to get me to install windows, but I think she means that It will ruin my WIndows setup, I was messing around with the Live USB I made and accidentally deleted my entire ubuntu partition. now she just dosn't trust it after I had to re-install ubuntu.

Rofl that's funny. Anyways that could have happened to anyone. I work with computers for a living and am finished with school with a degree in it.

Anyways what your asking for can more than likely be found on one of the major torrent sites. Just kinda pick one and read the comments to make sure it's an OK version. I have a dual booted Ubuntu/7 computer right now and it's working just fine without any problems.

Well I found a less stressful solution, I'm going to use Dosbox to install windows 98 then I'll go hunting for a XP ISO or even Vista, anyways. This will take me a while and will also allow me to get more advanced with windows and Ubuntu. Actually I'm going to check to see if my win98 ISO download has finished since Its been downloading for about 30 mins. after that, if its successful i will try newer and newer versions of windows, I just hope win 2000 or XP can run on DOS 5.00. Anyways I think this is a solution that will get my mom to leave me alone about it.
