View Full Version : Should I go?

This was the closest I could find to the topic of this but mods move it if it's in the wrong place please.

So anyway, got a bit of a problem.
I've been invited to my first mad house teenage party. It's tommorow. This whole week i've thinking about going but I'm just not sure if I really want to go.

All the popular people are there. And by that, I mean people I don't usually talk to. Sure, we might say, "hey" or "hows it going?" but never an actual conversation. Yes, alcohol will be there, which I don't drink, but I'm fine with people around me drinking. I just won't really know who to talk to or have a good time with. I can only see myself dancing, but for what, 6 hours? It starts at 8, and I'm really unsure if I should go. This would be my first and probably only ever party that's like this that I'm actually invited to. My friends don't hold parties like these. Half of me says yes. The other half says no. What do I do?

Go have fun but if you start feeling your being pressured in to drinking then slip out and walk home or get a parent to pick you up. Remember be SENSIBLE!

nonono, I know that. I mean, well I just don't really know anyone there. I know of them, I don't talk to them that much...

Here's a place to get to know them better then. Talk to people and dance, i'm sure you'll find people that you can talk to if you make an effort and don't hide in the corner. Be confident and be you just join in with the conversations and start up new ones.
Just go, don't stress over it because partys are there so you can have fun. Just join in with everyone else and forget about work for a while. It will be good if you give it a try. If you don't go then you might regret it afterwards.

Once i had a birthday of a friend, and on the party i only knew 2 people. Although i knew that most of my friends that were also invited wouldn't be there, i went, and i became friend with really cool people, if i were you i would go.

Basically this, if this is your only chance, then I say go, dance have a hell of a time, are any friends of yours going that you can meet up with ahead of time?

No. I'm in a completely different friendship group than all the people there. Im thinking of popping in for about an hour.

great chance to meet a lot of people.
but of course your attitude matters a lot.
if you go there with a bad mood you won't have fun at all.
be hopeful about the party or don't go at all. with your bad mood you can spoil somebody's.

Haha, a bit late but thanks :)

I went for an hour and left, since it was kinda boring and I people were glad I came for a bit, but I made up an excuse saying I had to look after my brother. (I usually would look after him but he was at a sleepover, lol)

Well you went, you had the experience and that's what counted.

A lot of the time I find parties really boring. (depends who's throwing them)
