So my dad smokes weed on regular basis. I don't mind it because it helps him relax and he isn't nearly as grumpy when he smokes.

I don't really have a problem with weed, but I could use some advice. So I suffer from excess worry and I am socially inept. So I started stealing some of my dads pot and getting stoned, and it does so work wonders for my worry. I've heard that it's supposed to increase anxiety when your stoned, maybe it does for some people, but not me.

The problem with this weed though, is that I have no idea where it comes from. My chemistry teacher said it wasn't the weed itself that messes with your head, but the way you grow it. Strange chemicals and hormones are added to the plant to make it grow faster/bigger. So it's important to know the weed comes from, so you know if any chemicals are added and I have no idea where it comes from. And I'm not about to ask.

I've only gotten stoned a few times. I don't seem to have gotten any worse mentally. I'm not planning on using it every day, once every two weeks maybe, or once a month. When things get really bad it helps loads.

I don't know if I should continue, I don't know if it's just going to make more problems for me. So should I just keep going on with it? Or kick the habit now?

The nutrients used to grow marijuana are the same nutrients used to grow carrots. At the end of the harvest, every grower "FLUSHES" out their weed and then dries it, removing any leftover nutrients. Even without the flush it is not harmful, it will just taste icky.

There is no one in their right mind who would waste other illegal drugs to lace marijuana either. Why would someone spend over $50 to lace your $10 gram, unless they absolutely hate you? It just doesn't happen.

If you continue to smoke, don't let propaganda like that change your opinion. Smoke if you want to, or stop if you want to. Personally it helps me and I have researched to find out how little damage it has done.

My personal stand point is No.

If you become dependent on Weed to function in everyday life then you may remain as such. I would suggest you kick the habit while you still can and talky o a consoler at school. He/she can help you with the social anxiety and awkwardness.

I would just kick it.

Weed, although it seems good right now, is illegal and if you're caught using it it could ruin your life. Even though it seems to be improving your life right now, it could be bad later. Have you ever seen brain scans of people that smoke marijuana? The brain becomes deformed, it really is very scary. Another problem is that weed can be an expensive habit. Eventually, you won't be able to steal it from your dad, you'll have to buy the stuff. Just like buying cigarettes (I have know idea why those are legal), the cost will add up. I say kick the habit while you can, although weed isn't physically addictive like nicotene it is mentally addictive.

I would just kick it. He smokes it once a week but he's going to depend on it daily? Now come on, that is ridiculous.

I smoked marijuana every single day for two years. I took a 3 month break no problem afterwards, when necessary.

It all depends on how much is taken, how it is prepared and how you metabolize it...not everyone is the same.

Yeah don't believe all the shit you hear about Marijuana, users think it's so awful and bad if you use it. I mean come on! It's not meth or cocaine! Marijuana is better for you then alcohol, how many people do you know smoke a blunt and go beat their wife? No one! Smoke if you want to, but if you don't don't do it.

If marijuana helps you and has not hurt you, then it's your choice.
If you see it start to harm you, just don't use it.

I'm just telling you, there is currently no correlation between marijuana usage and permanent harm. That does not include temporary harm, as there is a few things.

I say kick the habit while you can, although weed isn't physically addictive like nicotene it is mentally addictive. Recent University of Iowa Health Care studies indicate that some people who frequently use marijuana have substantially lower blood flow to certain parts of their brains; however, smoking the illicit drug does not affect brain size or structure. Although there have been claims that chronic cannabis use may permanently damage the brain, there is little scientific evidence to support these claims (for reviews see Dornbush et al., 1976; Hollister, 1986, 1998; Zimmer and Morgan, 1997). As described above, some studies have revealed a modestly impaired ability to focus attention and filter out irrelevant information in ex‐cannabis users (Solowij, 1998), but other studies failed to find any impairments in cognitive function (Pope et al., 2001). There is little evidence that cannabis use impairs work performance or leads to an ‘amotivational syndrome’ (Dornbush et al., 1976; Hollister, 1986; Abood and Martin, 1992), nor is there any convincing evidence for neuropathological changes in the brains of cannabis users (Hollister, 1986). The earlier studies have been complemented by the application of powerful modern neuroimaging methods. For example, an MRI study compared 18 current, frequent, young adult cannabis users with 13 comparable non‐users and found no evidence of cerebral atrophy or regional changes in tissue volumes (Block et al., 2000). Is that so? I don't believe Oxford agrees with you.

Has anyone seen the movie 'Super high me'? it's about a guy who's been smoking daily for 17 years. He takes a one month break and goes through a series of tests / exams for scientific and medical study.
At the end of the tests the doctor says, "In the past 17 years of you using marijuana there is no permanent damage that you have done to your body."

Getting stoned is getting as high as you can from weed. A small high (about a dime of high quality) will relax you and trust me if you steal weed from your dad he knows, anybody he smokes know what they have, how much, how good, etc. And must growers don't add anything to there weed, asshole teachers lie to kids all the time about that stuff.

weed is not bad for you, but if you feel the need to stop(for some strange reason) then try smoking green tea. it relaxes you as much or more than weed does.

No one can tell you to continue on this site as per the rules. My suggestion is if you feel it would bennefit you, and if you are lucky enough to live in a county/state where medicinal marijuana is legal, you may consider talking to your docotr about the effects, benefits and cons regarding marijuana.

As you said, a lot of marijuana is motivated with certain cultivators, as well as being dipped in other things that may cause a heavier chance for addiction. Marijuana on it's own, however, can still effect neuro-transmitters which can effect mood. It can also bring up paranoia in a lot of people.

Be careful. Be safe. You know you better than anyone else. You'll always make the right decision ;)
