Although you only have a few they're really good. Maybe you could try thinking up a theme and stick with that for a while, see how it works out for you?

I just made that blog today. So I only have a few pictures. What do you mean my theme?

You could limit what you take photo's of so as to have a theme to them all. For example Iris (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=135019) sticks with water droplets so if you want to progress then you should try different styles and stuff at a time, see which one works best for you.

Cool. A blog is always a good place to start. May I ask what gear do you shoot with? Have you attended a course or been trained?

I'd say the best way for you to start out is to explore new things every time you go out and shoot - find things that interest you, shoot, shoot, shoot. Exhibit your work and get critique from people who know what they're talking about (and there are plenty on VT!)

I think what Nikki meant is to be led by a certain artistic direction - most famous photographers are famous for certain "sets" or "galleries", or have their art distinguishable by a certain element they have in a lot of their work.

Keep going, never give up. If you ever lose inspiration to shoot, go on a long walk and shoot everything your eyes see.

They're not bad at all. You have great focus and sense of space. The lighting on the first one is really nice. I bet if you turned it black and white and played with the contrast it would be mind-blowing. The second one has great focus and a sweet tone, and the third's lighting isn't the greatest, but the angle and focus are awesome. Keep it up!

Thanks for the pointers. I haven't taken any courses or anything I just try to capture the moment with my Nikon D80. I hope one day I will be able to take pictures like you guys :)

Hey you know what, there's no better or worse in art. Every art has its own direction and each to their opinion... you need to find what you're passionate about and shoot it out to your heart's content :)
